I realize most of the last few posts have been overflowing with sarcasm, but the Cubs have actually hit Wandy pretty well in the past.

3.14 ERA in 51 innings over 8 starts in the last 3 years. They've hit him well once or twice but not often.

And besides, nobody beats Wandy at home. His ERA over the last 3 years at home is 2.59. He's an ace at Minute Maid.

apparently barney is second in the lineup and soto is eighth? is lou back?

Honestly, until Soto starts hitting I could care less, he has killed the Cubs in many RBI situations this year so far. If I see him foul out with a runner in scoring position and less than 2 outs again I may go into an alcoholic rage.

he's played 8 games and his babip is around .200, i think we can assume that he will hit better than darwin [expletive] barney in the future.

Soto's also got a LD% of 20% so he's getting unlucky despite good contact. Barney, meanwhile, has a .333 BABIP and a 28% LD% (the latter of which, I think it's safe to say, won't continue). And yet Soto still has a higher OPS (.682 to .649) than Barney does.

Solid start to the first inning. Get some runs, Cubs.

Another lineout and more bad luck for Soto.

This thread is a testiment to the new attitude era of NSBB. Good stuff.

Glad we got all our runs out of the way because we ain't scoring again this series.

Can some of these line drives please start falling for Geo?

Two more hard hit balls today and nothing to show for it.

Also, I am starting to think that the Cubs offense will be above average when all is said and done. It's gonna be up to our pitching to determine whether we contend.
