What a fine day in Chicago sports. Only win the most meaningless of the 3 games.

Good series, but poor way to finish it. Just win 2/3 next series and we'll be fine.

1 out of 3 is NOT a good series.

Sure but it was almost 2/3. Play this way most series and you win 2/3, so I'm not all that upset. It's a long ass season so all I'm really worried about right now is overall decent play.

How was this a good series?

Other than game 1: we got shutout, Garza looked like crap, and they left about 400 guys on base today with the bullpen giving up the lead and game. How is that a good series?

It must be difficult finding ways to lose on a daily basis. I'll give the Cubs credit for their creativity.

"Setup man enters with a 1-run lead, walks the terrible leadoff hitter, gets 2 outs and then surrenders the go-ahead 2-run homer to the overachieving scrub who was once a Cub and was sort of not good and that's why he is no longer a Cub, followed by a poor managerial choice in what is ultimately a 1-2-3 9th inning"?

That's not creative, we've all seen it before. Every third or fourth game, it seems sometimes.

Ramirez-Pena-Soto in the top of the ninth.

Go down 1-2-3 bet it'll take less than 12 pitches for this to happen.

Sure enough, numbnuts closing for the Brewers has walked 2 and given up 6 hits in 4.1 innings yet, Bryd, Ramirez and Pena manage to see all of 8 pitches. Well at least the Bulls kicked the Bucks' asses.

Almost means nothing in the standings.

I had hopes the Cubs would be a surprise team this year, but so far it looks like 2010 all over again.

The stolen base attempt by Byrd was laughable, but there were plenty of chances to score earlier in the game.

When the offense fails inning after inning to get a big hit to blow the game open, this is what you deserve.

You're kidding right? Yes, they missed some opportunities, but ultimately they scored 5 runs, and 4 of those came off of the guy that half the people in this thread were [expletive] their pants over the idea of the Cubs having to face him. How about Coleman and and Wood don't give up 6 [expletive] runs to a team that amounts to little more than Fielder-Braun-Weeks and a collection of hot garbage?

Still haven't won on WGN yet this season, right?

I don't think so. I pretty sure somebody posted 3-0 on CSN and 0-3 on WGN coming into the series which puts the Cubs at 4-1 on CSN and 0-4 on WGN now.

The Cubs have sucked on WGN forever. Even in 08, I'm pretty sure they were barely over .500 on WGN.

Dumb post after dumb post.

THEY GOT TO GALLARDO. THEY SCORED 5 RUNS. NO TEAM IS GOING TO CAPITALIZE ON EVERY SINGLE RUN OPPORTUNITY. THE OFFENSE DID MORE THAN ENOUGH TO WIN THIS GAME.
