Well, if there was ever a game the Cubs were the underdogs, this is it.

Coleman went 4-2 with a 4.11 last season in the majors while Gallardo is Milwaukee's ace.

I'm predicting Carlos Pena's first HR as a Cub today.

Let's win the series!

I can't wait for the Cubs to give up a run in the bottom of the first and Aramis Fan will show up and say that this team sucks.

In case you didn't notice, I tried to tone down the negativity in the OP, but whatever.

yeah, you're right - I'm just being unrealistically negative... Coleman is favored to beat Gallardo.

How DARE you not think that the Cubs are the favorites with our AAA callup against an all-star pitcher.

For shame, sir. For shame!

Halladay...Sabathia..Narveson.Lincecum. There's no shame ine being shut down vs. One of the best in the game, but when you are, you must do your best to rebound the next day, and we'll have to do it amongst a gut who might one day be as good as the Narvesons and Koufaxes of the world.

As I pointed out a couple days ago, Sergio Mitre beat Roy Halladay once. I'm not expecting the Cubs to win this one, but stranger things have happened.

It's weird how some seem to be on the verge of pissing their pants over the idea of the Cubs facing Yovani Gallardo. Everyone actually knows who Yovani Gallardo is, right? He's a good pitcher. He's not nigh unbeatable, he's not some kind of all star pitching ace for the ages...he's Yovani Gallardo: good pitcher for the Milwuakee Brewers. It's by no means a sure thing that the Cubs, who have started off the year with a pretty good offense, won't beat him.

You do realize that average and below average MLB pitchers have plenty of good or great games, right? Remember how Carlos Silva inexplicably looked like a world beater at the beginning of last year?

They didn't fight each other.

They should have.

I'm all for ditching the idea of having pitchers bat in the NL and instead make the starters duke it out.

OK. The Cubs beat the Blue Jays in a game where Sergio Mitre pitched for the Cubs and Roy Halladay pitched for the Blue Jays. Better?

I do, but its still frustrating when it happens to us.

Now doesn't that feel better than the usual "Cy Narveson"-type rigamarole?
