That was Webers quote after the Mizzou game. I thought it fit better after this game.

Why are you blaming Weber for the fact that our best player failed to show up today? Did Weber also throw all the terrible passes, or did Weber tell the refs to let our players get grabbed and held on every possession? Is Weber responsible for the lack of effort? Did Weber allow Ryan Smith to jack up wide open threes and allow Purdue to shoot over fifty percent?

 

Please tell me specifically what Weber did to lose this game. We have 6 freshman on our roster. Our only senior is a scrub. Our only sophomore is waiting for his meal ticket. Weber has proved he can win with talent, but it was mature talent. This was our second true road game of the season with an incredibly inexperienced team. DJ and Brandon are our only players who played any meaningful minutes up until this season. These loses are going to happen when you're growing. Enjoy this team for what it is. The coaching situation will sort itself out in the offseason, but if you are going to blame every piss poor play we saw today on Bruce, then you are placing blame in the wrong place.

I used to wonder why my tuition was so much while attending Purdue. Now I realize that they needed that money to pay off these refs every year when the basketball team plays against Illinois. Money well spent.

Weber proved he could win with Deron Williams and 4 other guys who played in the NBA. Newsflash anyone can win with that group. Anyone. He's a bafoon and clearly in over his head.

You still haven't answered my question. First people criticized his recruiting, now he magically can't coach, despite the fact he took SIU to a Sweet Sixteen. While I think the situation is in need of some serious thought and evaluation, they played like crap today. That's why they lost.

 

Firing Weber would certainly bring the fan base back into balance, but the question of a replacement looms even larger.

His problem now is he recruits the same player over and over. We have about 5 sgs that can't shoot. Had 6. His offense is a jump shooting offense. See why that's a problem? He can't recruit, Jerrance leaves and we get no one again. The program is in shambles.

i was never very passionate regarding zook's coaching tenure. i figured the football program has been so mediocre through the years, the best we could hope for is a decent year here and there, maybe a rose bowl appearance every 10 or so years.

 

but illinois is a basketball school, and i'm not really willing to waste any more years on a bad team.

Feel like Ohio St lost that game more than IU won it. Matta coached a pretty bad game. O$U had a lot of defensive lapses in the 2nd half. IU got to the bucket a lot. That's on Matta.

Great win, don't care how or why or who. 13-1 and beat a #1 and #2 in the same season for the first time ever. :stickman:
