probably why he intentionally got kicked off the team at purdue what with iowa (rpi 843) nipping at the boilermakers' heels.

Iowa St. would fare about as well as Nebraska has in the B1G.

as evidenced by the B12's 4-1 record against the B10 this year. yes, definitely.

Any conference that has Iowa St. in 4th place is hot garbage. With Mizzou leaving next year it's going to be Kansas and a whole bunch of bad basketball going forward.

lol. Iowa State and Purdue are one spot away from each other per kenpom. (34th and 35th) Mere percentage points. They'd probably have a very similar record to your team. 6th is a fair assessment. Nebraska? No.

As for the Big 12 moving forward, WVU has been consistently equal to or better than Missouri. I think we come out ahead in terms of basketball on that exchange. TCU is worse than aTm, but aTm is overall a pretty big who cares in hoops.

KU, UT, WVU, KSU, and BU will all be solid programs.

I love what the Mayor is doing in Ames. After Mizzou, they're the Big 12 team I'd least like to play again. I think they'll continue to get better.

OSU has players. Ford is an awful coach though. Hard to say where he'll take that program.

I have no idea what to think about OU.

TCU and Tech are awful and look to be awful for the foreseeable future.

Iowa State is going to be even better next year, quite possibly their best team ever if Royce comes back. We'll have a true PG in Lucious and an athletic wing player in Will Clyburn, both are something this years team has lacked.

Best team ever? Marcus Fizer laughs at you.

Not saying it'll happen but they will have the potential to be that good.

we swept iowa, and you wouldn't whip iowa if you played them now

also, Purdue is not good this year.

Man I don't know, that Fizer team was the second best team in America that year(IMO). The committee screwed them.

True, I wasn't an Iowa State fan back then so maybe my prediction is off. I'm just saying next years team is going to be really good.

Yeah they should be, barring White leaving early they should be top 15ish.

I agree. That ISU team was bananas. I think the clones will be good next year. They'll have a real chance to win the Big 12 if Royce White comes back. But I don't think they'll be better than that team.

Jesus christ, Iowa thinks we are a cup cake. Iowa. :banghead: And they aren't wrong.

I don't think I've seen any Iowa fan think this.

I'm kind of expecting a blowout in Illinois favor but we'll see.

I hope they rely on Corey Lucius next year. That would be just great.

1. Korie Luscious sucks. Seriously. He isn't good. True PG? LOL

2. White is your team this year. As far as being productive and being relied upon to do so much, he's been statistically maybe the most important player to a high-major team this year. The IF he comes back is enormous.

1. Korie Lucious doesn't "suck" and we aren't relying on him to be a big player next year. Just someone who can take pressure off of Royce so he doesn't have to handle the ball as much as this year.

2. Royce is a big part of our team but he isn't our whole team. We have the best 3 point shooting team in the Big XII, only one other team in the country can say they have four different players who have made more than 45 three pointers.

Ha ha! Buzz Williams just sent the WVU student section into a frenzy by doing a little two-step dance move on his way over to the ESPN announcers for the post game interview. They were ready to attack him & had to be held back by security.

white has been kinda garbage for a good part of the last month or so. even he leaves, they should be just as good next year.

1. Yes he does. His offensive ratings in 3 years were 92.4, 93.5 and 91.5. His 3 years at MSU he shot 38%, 34% and 31% from the field. And he's a shooting guard! He shot 32% and 28% from 3 as a sophomore and junior. He shot 39% and 36% from 2 as a sophomore and junior. He had obscenely high turnover rates all 3 years. And the worst part is, even though he can't shoot, he thinks he's a shooter and just keeps putting up misses. Calling him a true PG is completely absurd.

2. Royce White uses 30% of your possessions and has played 76% of the possible minutes. There are only 5 high-major players who have used more of their team's possessions. Of those 5, only 2 have played more minutes than White, Stoglin at Maryland and Frazier at PSU. So yes Iowa State has relied upon White more than every other BCS program in the country has relied on one player except for Maryland and PSU.

Stepping away from Iowa/ISU for a moment. I really hate this elbow to the head is always a flagrant foul call the last couple of years. I understand their reasoning behind it, but it's use is stupid far too many times. A few minutes ago they call a guy from A&M for elbowing Guerrero from Okie State, a couple days ago they called Sullinger for it. In both cases they were guys making a legitimate move and any contact was incidental, absolutely no intent in either case. How can either be considered a flagrant foul?

I gotta be honest I dislike a lot of how the games are refereed at this point. I think too many times the refs try and become the show themselves with huge, theatrical calls(Ed Hightower). Bills touched on it a bit today on game day. I really think they need to have a better system set up to govern the officials.
