I'm sure there's somebody else out there I'm forgetting, but yeah those 3 would be fine.

I'd still take Stevens, but the only real chance there is that this year was a wakeup call that Butler can't stay good forever and he decides to strike while the iron's hot. Still think he stays though.

This isn't meant as an insult, I believe Illinois will hire a very good, well sought after coach. But Brad Stevens is exceedingly unlikely to happen.

Sure it was. Go lose by 50.

Weber' press conference calling out Paul and Leonard was pretty lame. DJ Bryd' a player? Maybe Paul and Leonard would be players too Bruce if you coached to their abilities, last night when the Illini ran more of a transition offense Purdue couldn't stop them. I'm thinking this team can run and if they would have pushed the ball more often last night they'd blown Purdue off the floor.

i live for getting under the skins of turdue fans. mainly db, but sometimes i like to point out to all of them that almost every big ten team has been more successful.

i just don't think it would be fair to put purdue and indiana in the saqme division.

stallings and marshall do nothing for me.

Stallings has taken Vanderbilt to the tournament 5 of the last 6 years and gotten good seeds most of the time averaging around 23 wins per year. Granted he's been upset a few times but still if he's doing that at Vanderbilt...

That game [expletive] sucked. How the hell is PSU 4-3 at home in the Big Ten? They have one player.

Iowa sleepwalks through the first half, then actually plays in the 2nd half but misses key free throws and has two terrible calls go against them late. Then a [expletive] 33% FT shooter goes 4-4 and knocks down 2 with 25 seconds left.

Even if Illinois wanted him, Stallings wouldn't come to replace a guy he coached with at Purdue for 8 years.

Good call, didn't think of that. Was thinking of him being from Illinois and coaching at Illinois State but didn't consider the Weber angle.

Iowa almost had him when they hired Lickliter. They interviewed him and had a contract drawn up at $1.5M per for 7 years (Lick's was for $1.2 so seems clear Stallings was option 1), but then he decided to stay at Vanderbilt. No idea where we would be right now if he came but I know the last 4 years wouldn't have been total hell.

Any talk of Chris Collins? I heard part of the ESPN podcast where Katz and Gottlieb mentioned him for Illinois and then Northwestern if that opened up.

I think I would like that.

7 in a row, baby. Oh, and it's hard to get under other fans' skin when your program is in the dumps. At least the Hoosiers can point to their banners...

Yes and this is your boom period. Way to go. You guys are world beaters.

Actually, this is an ebb period for Purdue. Since the Johnson, Moore, Hummel, and Martin recruiting class, Painter has only brought in one 4 star recruit, Terone Johnson. There's four 4 star recruits coming in next year and two more committed for 2013/2014.

I like Purdue's chances against Illinois going forward given the fact that a bunch of three star recruits, Terone Johnson, and a hobbled Robbie Hummel can hold down the Illini.
