I hope Cody Zeller gets hit by a bus

ETA: Not killing him, I'd never wish death on him, just paralyzed, not death.

Not in the face either, it would ruin that bus.

if iowa beats crappy penn state tonight, they'll be in front of three alleged tournament teams in the big 10 standings. gross.

I don't think anyone alleges those teams as tourney teams anymore. They could each play their way in, but given their recent play, and the schedules, they'll all probably fall short.

And then Iowa State will be left out in favor of La Salle

lasalle's road win at duquense is probably better than any of isu's road wins...[expletive].

You should have had that first game at the Phog too. That would have had you solidly in.

Um, so according to Scout Weber is owed 3.9 million dollars within 60 days of his firing. Good lord Ron Guenther was a terrible AD. How do you write that contract?

God I miss you guys losing 20 games a year.

Don't worry, we'll be there next year.

No we won't, good lord.

Abrams

Paul

Bertrand

Shaw

Egwu

Richardson

that team won't lose 20 games. Just get a coach that will play the right kids in the right style. We aren't gonna win 30 games, but I bet with a decent hire, we are right around 22 wins.

yes. kinda blew a home game vs. mizzou too.

i think they're in if they beat OU and TT and finish 20-11, 10-8. their rpi is 38 right now, and even losses to k-state, baylor and mizzou wouldn't drop that too much (i wouldn't think). only one team outside the rpi top 40 didn't make it last year, and that was harvard. people thought colorado getting snubbed was a travesty and their rpi was in the mid-60s.

The problem is that most of the players on Illinois' roster have the same attitude. They all think THEY are the star player. If Paul is shooting all the shots Leonard isn't happy, yada yada. They pout, and ignore Weber. Hell, Weber flat said that Paul did not take the last shot he drew up last night (obviously).

What is Weber supposed to do? He can bench them for a while, but then they just transfer. Then the fans get pissed off. He's just let them do whatever they please for the most part.

Have you guys considered that these prize players Weber and Jerrance are recruiting might not all be great fits for a 'team'? You CAN blame the staff for that. Recruiting the best available athlete every time isn't always a great way to build a team.

Illinois had more 'talent' at every position last night except for Hummel at the 4. Even then, Hummel was guarding Leonard for portions of the game so you could say Illinois was more talented at every spot on the floor.

I'll say right now that Henry isn't transferring

Meyers Leonard should be pissed off about his role in the offense. He's as talented as any big in America and we get him about 8 shots a game. Also recruit a point guard and this works itself out. The '05 team was loaded. Deron kept everyone happy.

I think the real problem is that you have no idea what you're talking about.

I'm sorry, but that's not a 22 win team. You're relying on a front court of Egwu/Shaw that have had very limited experience. Maybe 20 wins, but it'll be 20 wins like this year - .500 at best in the B1G.

I'd start Griffey at the PF, and you have noone to backup Egwu.

i'm not worried about post play. we'll have 3 guards that can get to the cup (4 if you can't henry) next year and that's enough to win 20 games.

Depends. Can Egwu make the same leap that Leonard made? If he does anywhere close we will be decent. Abrams is going to be a lot better by next year. Having a good point guard will help out a lot. Mike Shaw is also our best rebounder. Leads the team in a wide marghin in rebounds per minute. Just because Bruce won't let a freshman play unless his hand is forced everyone assumes these kids suck. They don't.
