Can't believe they called a technical there.

Uh, he clearly slammed the basketball down after the foul call. They fixed the blown charge call but that doesn't change his reaction. Plus he threw an elbow at Barlow and would've been ejected in the first half if he hadn't missed.

He barely even touched the ball.

Yeah, I know. He only used one hand. Think maybe he had it coming and the refs were waiting?

So? You can't slam the ball down like that; he did.

Alone in 6th place baby, woohoo!

that right there gets you like a 2 seed in the tourney.

Nah, IF we make the tourney we won't be better than a 9 seed and there is a lot of work left to even make the tournament. To get a 9 I think Purdue would need to win 2 of MSU/@Illinois/@Michigan/@IU and win the games they should at home Penn St./Nebraska. If they win 1 of those 4 and beat Penn St. and Nebraska I think they're in as a double digit seed. If they lose all 4 of those which they easily could I don't think they make the tourney unless they make a run in the B1G tourney.

i guess that's (hopefully) good news for isu if 18-13 purdue even sniffs the tournament.

I would be really surprised if Purdue made it in with 18 wins, that would mean a losing record in conference.

Why are you worried about Purdue anyway? ISU has a much better resume at this point. Your worst loss (Drake) is pretty much a wash with our worst loss (Butler), but you've got wins against Kansas, Texas, and Kansas St. which are all better than our best win to this point (Temple?). Losing @ Penn St. really hurts Purdue too.

If Purdue had those two games back and had beaten bad Butler and PSU teams they would only be worrying about seeding right now.

The bracketologies I have seen have Iowa State and Purdue in the same range (usually Iowa State is a little ahead, but they're both in the 9-11 seed range). I'm not completely sure why, but it's pretty consistent. That's probably why he's concerned about a school like Purdue.

I find it amusing that when you look at the ISU roster (on their website) it lists the high school of each player followed by the university they attended before coming to ISU.

look, not every school can bring in the 5 star recruits that you need to say...compile a 5-7 record in the big 10. sometimes you have to get creative.

yes, this.

plus, i have to keep tabs on any big 10 malcontents that could end up at isu in 2014.

Minnesota should be automatically disqualified from all postseason tournaments for losing to Iowa twice.

Same with Kansas State for losing to Oklahoma twice.

As garbage as we've been lately, and as much as we got worked by them, there's no logic behind Purdue being ahead of us in a current snapshot. Worse losses and worse wins.

I tend to agree, unless Purdue wins @ Illinois Wednesday. Losing 6 of 7 in league play just looks bad. Not that Purdue is much better, they had lost 4 of 5 going into last night.
