I'd just like to say, there is no one playing better ball, right now, than Matt Gatens. He just unreal right now.

22 for his last 32 on threes

that's a little ridiculous

seth davis joining gottlieb on the iowa to the tourney bandwagon...

He's just making up for the the lovefest he gave Alford yesterday in his mailbag.

That game was [expletive] awesome. Huge student section, great atmosphere and Gatens put on an absolute show. First half neither team could miss anything and were taking some contested jumpers.

Although this just guaranteed an Illinois win Sunday. No way we win up there now that Gottlieb, Seth Davis, Mike DeCourcy, Rothstein and others are jumping on the "If Iowa wins out.." train.

Jesus christ, Iowa thinks we are a cup cake. Iowa. :banghead: And they aren't wrong.

I think you guys are going to beat us by double digits if that helps.

Nice win for Iowa. Gotta tip the cap to Gatens - the guy carried his team.

After our 12-2 run (or whatever) when we got back to within 51-48 with 12 min left, I thought we were going to keep going. But Gatens goes jumper, jumper, triple, triple in a 3 min span to put them back up 11.

Wisconsin will take a 6 seed, make it to the 2nd round, maybe gets to the 2nd weekend, and that's it. Not our best team this year. Next year will be interesting with only losing Taylor (who's nowhere near last year's level, prob still injured), returning other 4 starters, and bringing in Dekker and redshirts Uthoff and George Marshall.

So this year wasn't your best year, remember when we said that and you jumped all over us for it? Sill Bo did another nice job.

“We’ve had problems with these guys off the court, on the court, classroom, drugs, I mean, being late for stuff, all that stuff correlates together if you’re going to win games.”

I love the way the quote reads in print because it sounds like he mentions the drugs and then is like "uhhh...not drugs, I meant they're late sometimes!"

I said that when other posters (not you, you've been very level headed all year) said the Illini has the best talent in the B1G and would be top 3.

Nobody said Illinois had more talent than Ohio State.

Sir, I am never level headed and take offense to you even suggesting that. Sadly we do have the talent to be in the top 3, we just have a huge boob running things.

Hold my calls. Cancel my meetings. Looks like I have research to do. Or crow to eat.

I thought most arguments were we had as much talent as anyone not named OSU. We might have had more top 100 kids than OSU, but they probably had lower numbers on their top 100s. Still we have as good of talent as anyone in the Big not named Ohio State. And we have a better big man than they do, go ahead and look at how much Leonard outplayed May 2 in their head to heads.

If you use recruiting rankings the most talented teams are Ohio state and Illinois. Illinois has like 7 or 8 top 100 players. Not that I think we will be all that good.

Consistency.

Isn't that the truth though? I'm telling you right now we would be pretty freaking solid with Bo Ryan coaching us. We were one basket away from 3 wins over top 10 teams, yet we aren't even on the bubble. We are talking historically bad coaching job Brucie did this year.

Yeah most talented does not equal best.

Im amazed clownshoes had an epic run with his offense in '05 with two point guards then decides to recruit only two point guards the next 7 years.
