what are these rumors i hear about pat forde leaving ESPN because they were trying to protect kentucky from a story he's going to run about the illicit recruitment of the unibrowed one?

I don't know about the rumors, but Forde left for Yahoo about a month ago.

i'm sure there are investigative pieces that take a little more than a month to research and write.

st bonaventure is playing like that guy at the y who takes things way too seriously and we are playing like the guy who likes to take 3s so much that people stop passing him the ball.

We need this game. Gotta quit dropping home games to mid majors.

We actually haven't done that since the awful '07-'08 season. It's playing mid-majors anywhere but Champaign that's been our problem lately.

Are you not counting Penn St?

Lol everyone, I mean everyone knows the Brow got paid. Poor Cal, how does this keep happening to him?

No doubt, I couldn't tell if you knew Forde had left ESPN from your post.

The only time we've lost to them since that season was the year Penn State won the NIT(and probably should've been a tourney team.) Not a good loss, but it happens.

Oh well, we won. But Meyers getting 3 shots cannot happen.

Jerry Palm (the guy who tracks the RPI for CBS) posted his early season bracketology.

That's a lot of Big Ten teams in the field.

My "getting way ahead of myself" complaint. I'd much rather IU be the #9 seed, facing #1 seed Syracuse in Pittsburgh than the #7 seed facing the #2 seed Tarheels in Greensboro.

Do not see Illinois being able to maintain a 3 seed.

I'm thinking, and would be happy with, a 6 seed.

If Harvard wins tonight, they'll likely have an undefeated season.

I mean, they won't win tonight, but it's all smooth sailing from here for them if they do, which makes me wonder how high pundits will rank them.

Also, Utah might be the worst major conference team in history this year.

How about any DePaul team from the last 20 years?

Come on, only like 15 of those seasons have we been worse!

But, yeah, I saw that Utah lost by 31 to Cal State something or other and thought: "Why can't DePaul get them on their schedule?"

DePaul would occasionally beat the D1 cupcakes. Utah just lost to one by 31 at home. They may not win a D1 game this year.

Palm thinks Minny will make the tourney without Mbakwe? That's going to be tough sledding.

Keep in mind he's bracketing based on teams' performance and results right now rather than projecting how they'll end the year. Also, he's basing it on the teams' current RPI (which is comical if you see it).

Utah was playing without their far-and-away best player, Josh Watkins, last night. But yeah, they are pretty awful. But not awful enough to go winless in a terrible Pac 10/12/whatever.

Also, CSF is not exactly a "cupcake". They aren't great, but not a total pushover, picked to finish 3rd in the Big West.

Indiana only getting 4 points against Kentucky tomorrow? Pomeroy has Kentucky winning by 6? Now, don't get me wrong. I think IU finishes in the top half of the B1G this year. They're much improved and playing at home in the Hall of Calls. That being said, doesn't Kentucky beat them by double digits tomorrow?

Well that sounds outrageous.

The line? It started at +3.5 and is at +4.5 now a couple hours later.
