deion sanders becomes the first defensive player to make the HOF without making a tackle.

Honestly even if this meme were true he could still be deserving

Is Ray Guy in yet?
Nope; I don't believe any punters are.

No full time punters.

Actually I was thinking of Blanda but he was a PK/QB.

Yale Lary is in the HOF, he was a S/P (strange combo -- but a different era).

CONGRATS to Dent -- definitely well-deserved. You can't have a conversation about the dominance of that defense without talking about Richard Dent.

or needing to in order to be the best CB in the NFL for like a decade

right because i definitely said that he didn't deserve to make it.

How in the world is Cris Carter not in yet?

All he does is catch touchdowns.

And pretty much everything else, too.

3rd all time in receptions, 8th in receiving yards, 4th in receiving TDs, 5th in yds/reception, 54th in receiving yards/game, 8th in touchdowns and 36th in all purpose yards. Interesting tidbit: his 5 two point conversions is 3rd all time.

He should have been a first ballot hall of famer.

What about Tim Brown? 4th in receiving yards, 6th in rec. TDs, 4th in receptions, 5th in AP yards. NFL doesn't typically put guys in the same position in the HOF together. And Brown was up the same time as Jerry Rice and Cris Carter.

I forgot Brown had been on the ballet multiple times too. He, Carter and Andre Reed should all be in, without a doubt. Carter just stands out to me because I consider him to be better than the other two (though that's pretty subjective since they're all pretty close).

they aren't in because the NFL has the stupid rule about only so many people getting in every year

That shouldn't have stopped them from putting in the best, most deserving players. I don't think they did that.

the best probably didn't get in, no... but I think it would make it easier if they just went and put in all the guys who deserve it, regardless of how many there are in a particular year

This is true.
