So the rotation is looking like

(based on how its set up for opening day)

Zambrano

Dempster

Garza

Wells

Cashner/Silva (who am I kidding probably Silva)

Certainly possible, but I don't think that Wells is even assured of a spot. I'll go ahead and say I expect Cashner to make it personally.

I'll be pretty upset if this is for more roster filler.

Also, I thought the Nats' system was good - who have they graduated/traded away recently?

I think their system gets a huge bump for having Harper. I like Espinosa quite a bit, but that's all they have that really appeals to me, other than what they drafted this past year. Cole and Solis are both potential frontline starters.

I'm betting the outfielder is AAA filler or a raw 19 year old. If we get one of the pitchers in their top 10 this deal looks pretty good. I liked Gorz, but I never thought we were gonna keep him for very long.

Foxsports.com is saying that Burgess is one of the players coming back.

If so, who cares who the other 2 are. This is a great trade! Former 1st round pick.

2007 1st round pick with strong power numbers in the mid minors and a great OF arm (was rated best OF arm in the Nats org back in 2009 by BA). That's a fantastic prospect to get for Gorz.

It seems like he had a bit of a drop in expectations over the last year. Didn't really look like he had a down year though. Maybe just progressing through the minors too slowly? I have seem him somewhere around the 8th to 12th best prospect in the Nats org.

Damn, when I brought him up, I didn't really have alot of hope to actually get him. He'll probably start off in AA and I'd say this puts Kyler Burke's OF career on a very short notice.

And if one of the pitchers we get back has some upside, this makes this even better. But, as someone else just said, I'm happy with Burgess.

I like Burgess' numbers. He seems to have decent on base skills for a 21 year old player. Can anyone more familiar with him share some scouting info? What kind of tools does he possess?

From what I've seen he hits a lot of line drives, has a great OF arm, but has a Tony Gwynn like physique which will obviously limit him as a player. Seems like his issue is inconsistency. Inconsistent performance, inconsistent approach to the plate, etc.
