In 34 years of supplemental drafts, only 40 players have been taken. Cris Carter and Bernie Kosar are pretty much the big names to come out of it.
I forgot about Bosworth and Carter; Kosar is who I remember. He didn't want to be drafted by the team who had the top pick in the regular draft, and he was going to be eligible to graduate despite having one year of eligibility remaining. So he didn't declare early, then when he graduated applied for the supplemental draft.

Dave Brown, who was the Giants QB for several years in the 90's, was a supp pick out of Duke.

I remember him but didn't realize he was a supplemental draft pick.

Yup - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Brown_(quarterback). 1st round pick too. I don't think anyone would take that sort of risk again.

Kerry Collns un-retires, joins the Colts.

I'd say Manning is definitely questionable for Week 1.

Curtis Painter is so unbelievably unworthy of being in the NFL that almost any warm bodied retread would be an upgrade.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say there.

Those guys are all long gone. Collins just retired in July. Equally unworthy comps? Yes.

It is important not to underscore how bad Painter is though. I've been a Bears fan for life and I know that Painter would have fit right in with those atrocities. The Colts have a lot of weapons on offense, much more than those Bears teams ever had, and he still can't complete a forward pass.

I saw Colts sign Collins and my first thought was 'oh no Todd collins is back in the league'

After his performance last year, Todd Collins' mom could own an NFL team and he wouldn't have a job this year.

The Bengals might not win a game all year

Are you sure that's not 5.5 quarters won for the season?

I could see them getting a couple of 3-0 4th quarters as the opponent is sitting their starters and running the ball up the gut everytime, meanwhile an underthrown deep ball leads to a pass interference, getting the Bengals in FG range to close the scoring in a 30-3 loss.

Rams over 7.5 (even)

Packers under 11.5 (-150)

Broncos over 5.5 (-140)

Panthers over 4.5 (-135)

I debated taking Rams over 7.5, the other 3 I don't want to touch, but I think I'd disagree with you on all 3 bets.

Yeah, you might want to take a real close look at the Rams schedule before you say they're going over 7.5. That thing is going to be tough, starting with Philly to open the season (I think).

looking at the schedules now, i backed off on the Rams a little; that's a pretty grueling slate

Packers have New Orleans, Atlanta, St. Louis, San Diego, NY Giants, KC and a tough division; 5+ losses is a lock

Denver has Oakland x2, Cincinnati, Tennessee, Miami, Minnesota, Buffalo, KC x2; there might be 6 wins in that group alone
