Packers get the Bears scraps....hehe.

Good pick though.

We'll see about that. ;)

I think the Packers and Bears are going to be good for a long time. This rivalry is about to get super intense, moreso than usual.

meh - we'll both be looking up at the Lions with their defensive line and most especially the Vikings with Ponder.

I am all for making fun of the Vikings and Ponder. However, the Lions I think are a legit concern moving forward.

My question is this:

With the GM picking Ponder, does Frazier fly down to Mississippi to try to get Favre to come back?

Like I said, they're not there yet. Their secondary is pretty weak and their LB's aren't great, but they've got a good core and some seemingly competent people in the front office for the first time in forever-- they're going to be good, and it's going to be sooner rather than later. It just won't be this year.

Reggie Bush tweeted

"Its been fun New Orleans"

Guess he was not happy with the Ingram pick and is not coming back.

It's always a fascinating side of the draft that isn't told.

Every one of these picks -- there's a veteran on the other side, watching......not liking what he's seeing one bit.

Every successful pick is the end of the dream for another guy.

Protection for Cutler, more road-grating potential for Forte.

Carimi is the exact pick I was hoping for.

I really have no idea what the Titans' offensive plans are. After drafting Locker, OC Chris Palmer started raving about Locker's ability to pass outside the pocket and how great the Wing-T offense is. I guess this pick looks better if we're going to run the Wing-T, but surely we're not doing that.

As expected, pretty much every quote from Titans' front office guys focus almost solely on how good a work ethic and attitude he has. It's the anti-VY pick.

Between Suh trying to decapitate QBs and Fairley's penchant for drawing personal fouls, I have a feeling the Lions might very well kill someone's QB in the next few years.

stop it, you're giving me a semi with this talk

I'm fine with the Ponder pick. They targeted Locker and he was gone. They tried trading up to 9 for Gabbert and couldn't match the Jags since they don't have a 3rd. I would have preferred either of them but it couldn't happen.

At that point it was trade down or take a QB. They tried trading down and Spielman said they had no takers at that point (had some potential deals entering the draft to move down). I was hoping for Dalton at that point but obviously they like Ponder more and it looks like all of the Dalton pick was overblown.

It was either take a QB there or you don't get one for another year because they weren't going to get Dalton/Ponder with their 2nd and didn't have the ammo to trade up. It's a reach but it doesn't matter if you hit on it. Spielman and Frazier were willing to tie their stakes to him so that's good enough for me to believe they're confident in him.

He has the same strengths and weaknesses as Dalton and I've seen multiple guys describe him as the most ready to play. His ceiling isn't as high but I think his floor is higher than Newton and Gabbert and possibly Locker. Tough, super smart, good leader and good accuracy. I don't really care about superior arm strength in today's NFL.

Should have tanked this season and took a shot at Luck next year.

Carolina should have drafted Marcell Dareus.

They have no defensive line. They were starting Derek Landri last year. I watched Landri at ND. I love Landri. Landri is absolutely not a guy who should have been starting at defensive line for any NFL team.

If not Dareus, they should have drafted AJ Green (Steve Smith supposedly cleaned his crap out of the team facilities before the lockout and apparently has no intention of returning) or Patrick Peterson (we only have one good CB, Gamble) or Nick Fairley (same reason as Dareus).

The last thing they should have done is sent another rookie QB out there to get killed behind the crappy o-line, crappy running game (DeAngelo Williams is leaving once free agency begins) and crappy receivers - after using their first pick last year on a QB. Then, when we have a top 5 pick next year, there will be no solace to take and we will have to draft one of those positions (WR/CB/DT) anyway, and the guys we'll have to choose from probably won't be as good as the ones above.

All that being said, I'll be rooting like hell for Cam Newton to make this post look incredibly stupid.

I like the Lions a lot more when Millen was running the show.

Because that's how you always want to start off a new coaching regime and help get a new stadium. Plus they're too talented to go 2-14 and get the 1st pick. Not talented enough to win anything this year, but they couldn't tank if they wanted to.

Reports are Ravens are asking the NFL to give them the Bears' fourth rounder due to the botched trade.

Bah...that's ridiculous. Baltimore and Chicago both got the player they wanted, and now Baltimore got theirs one slot lower! We did them a favor!

I still think they're not gonna get anything out of this...

All's well that ends well, you say? Not so fast. Angelo called Baltimore owner Steve Bisciotti to apologize, but Bisciotti wanted the fourth-round pick anyway, claiming it was part of the deal they'd agreed to. In fact, I'm told Bisciotti today will push to get the fourth-round pick, or to make the situation right in some way.

The league is under no obligation to do so, because the trade was never official. And maybe all's fair in love and draft-night trades, but as far as Baltimore's concerned, I don't think this one's over. I think the Ravens will ask the league to award them some compensation from Chicago before the draft resumes at 6 p.m. Eastern today. Stay tuned.

Bush and Ingram don't have the same running styles and could definitely coexist on the same team. His tweet makes me think he's not going to be super willing to restructure his contract such that keeping him and having Ingram will be feasible for the Saints though, so I guess he will be released.

Well one things for certain, I don't think Baltimore will deal with Chicago again.

I do fail to see how it matters to them considering they were trading down even if they had wanted Jon Baldwin who was taken in their slot, KC would have still taken them at 27 (unless they wanted Baldwin but were willing to give up the pick to get an additional 4th, but I don't think that to be the case since CB was a much bigger need than WR). So they just paid lower slot money. Maybe he wanted to pay even less slot money and thats why he's upset, haha I don't know.

On the other hand, I don't blame him for trying. Worth the off chance you get a pick out of the (non)deal.

I actually do think the Ravens have a beef. It sounds like the trade was agreed on and Angelo didn't hold up his end of the bargain. But the rules are, it didn't get done in time so the pick was not traded. The Ravens looked bad for "skipping" their pick, but Angelo comes off as a slimeball in this whole thing. Ultimately, the Ravens won't get anything out of this.

That's probably what is going to happen. Bush wants to be the featured running back there. Even with Thomas and Ivory in the fold, Bush still was the star. Before the Ingram pick, Bush was willing to re-structure.

My guess is now, he is less willing to do so and there's no way the Saints pay Bush 11.5 million for next season. He's going to be cut. I wonder what team might overpay to sign him?

Will this affect other teams being willing to do draft day deals with the Bears in the future?
