Because Bulls fans have been arguing in this thread for the past 6 months that Denver better trade Melo because otherwise they'll lose him for nothing. So when they trade him for better garbage than the Bulls offered, they're gonna be upset?

You aren't even a Bulls fan, right? Why do you even care?

I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.

A) Bulls fans say Denver would be stupid to hold onto Melo and lose him for nothing

B) Bulls fans do not want to give up Noah for Melo

C) Melo gets traded to Knicks for a mediocre return that we could have bettered without trading Noah

Result: Bulls fans shouldn't get upset?

What package do the Bulls have that could better what the Knicks are offering?

What is NY's offer again?

That's like the 3rd post he's made in a day pissing and moaning about our opinion of a hypothetical Melo trade. Doesn't seem to me like it's worth the time. I was never of the opinion that we had a legit shot at getting Melo anyway - certainly not after they extended Noah rather than trading him, which seems like a good move right now - so I don't even know why this is an argument.

Wilson Chandler and at least 1 draft pick seem to be the only constants. Curry's expiring deal, Anthony Randolph, an additional draft pick, or the T-Wolves draft pick(in lieu of the Knicks) have been bandied about as additions.

Vote for the 4 guys you want to see against CP3 in the skills competition: http://www.nba.com/chooseyoursquad/

The candidates are: Baron Davis, Tyreke Evans, Derek Fisher, Tony Parker, Stephen Curry, Derrick Rose, John Wall and Russell Westbrook.

I'd like to see Fisher or Davis against CP3 just for comedic value, but I think the four best choices out of there are Rose, Westbrook, Parker and Curry.

Well I don't know then. I havent really been paying close enough attention, but I thuoght that is what you were implying in your original post. Given the year Chandler has been having, I find it hard for the Bulls to match him even with Noah included (considering his extension and BYC status). Deng exceeds him in ability, but his contract makes his value dwarf Chandler's. The Bulls aren't really matched up to make a legit move for Carmelo unless Melo came out and said he wanted to come here more than anywhere else. Of the 5 carryovers from last year's Bulls team, Rose and Noah are virtually untradable for Pax, Taj is a good secondary piece for a trade, Deng has value but an awful contract that doesn't justify his worth, and James Johnson is a throw in at best.

The best offer the Bulls can reasonably offer anyone (without Rose and Noah) is Deng, Taj, Brewer, and the Bobcats pick and/or a future Bulls 1st. That almost certanily not enough to beat a Knicks offer at this point.

Seriously, why are Davis and Fisher in that list?

The All-Star weekend is already in LA, so the list comprises everyone who will already be in LA.

Did Deron opt out of the running?

Or Rondo, for that matter. No idea why they aren't listed, but I'd have to imagine it was at least somewhat voluntary on their part.

A skills competition with CP3, Deron, Rose, Westbrook and Parker/Rondo/Wall would have been the best watch of the weekend, though.

I'd like to see Brian Scalabrine take on Chris Paul in the skills competition.

Today, Hollinger proposes a 3-team trade that would net the Bulls OJ Mayo, Travis Outlaw, Greivis Vasquez and a protected NJ pick for Bogans, Korver, CJ Watson and James Johnson.

I like Korver, but I don't think the Bulls would even have to think about doing that (well, maybe think for a bit about Outlaw's contract).

first thought: omg we are coach killers

second thought: omg he's been the Jazz coach since I was 5. Never expected that to happen.

Strange to think that in a four-month span, the longest tenured MLB, NFL and NBA coaches are all out. Watch out, Lindy Ruff.

The Trade Machine likes it and I do too. It easily tops the Bulls offer.

SSR is just conflating us clowning the Knicks for not having much to offer Lebron in free agency in terms of talent already on the team with us saying they don't have the pieces to trade for Melo. I don't remember anyone saying that at all.

Some interesting stuff on a Utah beat reporter's twitter about a Sloan-Williams fallout: http://twitter.com/#!/tribjazz

yeah definitely seems like one of those 'hey jerry, we love you and all but..can you just make this easier on all of us and resign' resignations.

But then again, he signed an extension fairly recently right?

Two days ago. If they did this just to keep Williams they are stupid. I don't think he stays in Utah no matter what.

Sloan is out? Can't believe I haven't heard this yet, but I guess I haven't been on twitter all day, so there you go.

That's a pretty quick fall from grace.
