they spelled ryan leif's name wrong

Ummm...am I missing something?

yes, you are missing the NSBB thread where his name was repeatedly spelled "leif" by a certain spelling-challenged poster.

This guy sounds like a self-important douchebag

meh. he thinks he got fucked by the industry (and it looks like he might have). it's not really honorable, but I don't think it's terrible either. my biggest disappointment was that there weren't more/better names in the story.

oh, and the fact that so many guys confirmed his stories makes it better, imo.

what a pathetic, depressing profession. nothing like begging 18 year old morons to take $500 from you in a hotel bathroom to make you feel like you've really accomplished something with your life.

then you become drew rosenhaus and you're still pathetic and probably depressed but insanely [expletive] rich.

The 1%, while the other 99% hang out in bathrooms and wish they were part of the 1%.

i cheated my whole career and now i'm going to rat everyone else out since it's not me.

Um, it is him as well.

Not really, since he's not doing that job anymore and therefore can't really suffer consequences of this news getting out.

He made a good point about naming names: if he just said "I gave some kids some cash", no one would pay attention to the story. It took laying out all the details in order for SI (or anyone) to take notice of the story

I agree with this. I also think the only way that this causes any positive change is bigger name agents will have to be caught or confess. I also think that players from schools that are perceived as clean will have to be named for any real change to happen. Still way to easy for fans from schools that "are above this kind of thing" to point at the WSU, USC, and other schools and say that it is an issue with those renegade programs and not with us.

This isn't about schools paying guys to play but agents paying soon-to-be pros in order to get their business when they declare, right? I don't think it's really school specific.

I think the argument that agents paying players at certain schools actually creates a competitive advantage for the schools in question is pretty ridiculous but some people profess to believe in it.

He's not an agent anymore.

You can't tell me that just because he's not an agent anymore, he's free from the court of public opinion.

He was an agent, so what people think of him probably wasn't a major concern in his life. And what can public opinion possibly do to him. Last week nobody heard of him, now he's a pseudo celebrity. I'm not sure how he's suffering at all.
