Thanks guys, i bought one of the Cutler jerseys from Yuki. Well i think i did, it has asked for CC yet. $38 is phenominal.

This defense has really improved, its actually the cover 2 bend but dont break and not breaking on big plays like the past cup years. I wish i had a time machine for Tommie Harris. If he can get pressure (not sure why he was inactive) that will go a long way.

When Cutler gets time he shreds defenses.

If I remember correctly, you place an order, then they e-mail you later that day or the next day with a link to a payment page.

This is a couple of pages ago, but I love the Packers fan pointing out the Packers beat the Bears twice in their 13-3 season in 2001. Isn't that exactly what happened in reverse in 2007? (Bears beat the Packers twice in their 13-3 season)

I'm pretty sure the Packers gave them those games though.

I don't know what's more hilarious to me. Bears fans acting holier than thou to Packers fans right now, or Bears fans fellating themselves over one win.

Or fellating themselves over 3 wins vs: the Lions in which they needed a BS call to negate the game-winning touchdown, a win over an unimpressive Dallas team, and a game where they needed 150 free yards to barely beat the Packers.

Start printing those Super Bowl tickets!

you sure are cockier than the guy i see in any cubs related thread... wtf?

This is great...keep it going guys.

Now the criticism is that us Bears fans think we're going to the super bowl? Outside of all the Bears fans baiting you guys into more hilarious responses, I've seen Bears fans admitting things like "Rodgers is better than Cutler", "The Bears were lucky to win tonight", "Deep down I know the Packers are better than the Bears", "Rodgers is really really good". But you all read past that for some reason.

Yes, omg the Bears team that we all thought was going to go mediocre at best is 3-0 after beating 2 Super Bowl contenders. why wouldn't we be excited? That doesn't mean we think we're the clear best team in the NFC North or whatever words you put in our mouths. It means we are excited at the performance of our football team. Isn't that what sports is all about?

Wow, people. The Super Bowl comment was sarcasm at how "good" the Bears have been this year. Not to be taken literally. Everyone take some deep breaths, calm down, go to your respective happy places. We'll get through this together.

oh i see we still don't understand the rule about completing a catch. the call was correct, it may be a stupid rule but it was ruled properly after the review.

and the "unimpressive dallas team" just won in houston; that houston team beat indianapolis in week one. dallas is still a good team and winning in dallas is a very good win.

and your third point, i haven't really seen anyone saying that the bears are the favorites to make the super bowl because they won last night's game. i HAVE seen you suffer a complete meltdown because of your team losing a close game to a rival, though, so that's been pretty fun.

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Was I upset after the loss? Yes. Did I have a "complete meltdown" as you put it? No. I didn't say anything that wouldn't have been said from the Bears side had the shoe been on the other foot. And I probably would have said a lot of the things you guys said in response. That's part of the fun of sports rivalries: the back and forth between the fanbases.

You guys sure get uppity. Breathe! Or, as Frankie said: Relax!

You guys gave me lots of entertainment, but sadly this thread no longer amuses me. Peace!

I'm learning quickly that you can't argue with "stupid", but I'm giving it my best shot. I have a friend who is from Chicago, but hates all Chicago teams. He only roots for the "Best" of each sport, ie Yankees, Lakers, Duke, USC, etc.

He is arguing that the Bears/Packers Rivalry is a joke of a rivalry and that they aren't even one of the biggest rivalry's in the NFC, let alone NFL and other major sports. I'll include my conversations with him so you get an idea of what I am going up against here:

Joe: let the obnoxious bears statuses begin...darn.

Me: FYI, I was happy your rams won...

Me: Ps... 3-0.

Me: ‎(Sorry, had to add an obnoxious part)

Joe: I know. its the bears way. hope this isn't a repeat of 09. remember that?

Some Other Dude: Joe, I think you posting this is kinda obnoxious! why do you care when fans of their team post status's after they win, When fans win, they post about their teams and our happy, you do the same thing You are happy when the rams won, and your yanks win, and Lakers and post status' I was happy for you when the Rams got the W yesterday! I have realized that you are more a Bears hater than anything maybe even more than a Rams fan! Fans are just enjoying the W, like you enjoy the W's from the Yanks and lakers and Dukies

Joe: I'm not a hater, I call it like I see it, plain and simple...there is a difference between being happy for a win n being a bears fan. Don't take it personal, its not just the bears, its chicago sports in general. I will explain it to u more tommorrow if u want. haha.

Joe: And I always find it weird that everyone roots for the bears when they win a few but if they drop 3 or 4 in a row which a serious possibility u won't be able to find the bears fans and the fire lovie campaign will start up again. Haha.

Me: Joe, the big thing with this particular game was that it was against the Packers, who happen to be the Bears biggest rival. It's like if the Yankees beat the Red Sox, Lakers beat the Celtics, Duke beating NC, Uconn beating Tennessee, etc. It takes less energy to ignore the "obnoxious bears fans" than it does to comment about it, so you're only adding to the fire.

Joe: Nope that's false. Everygame is the same. U talk about like I don't know anything about the bears. It could have been the raiders n the reaction would have been the same. I've been around bears fans all my life n I know what they are about. Don't compare the bears/packers to any of thise rivalires because it isn't even close to the intensity or has the history that other rivalies do.

Me: should I be celebrating every time my team loses? I never saw you cheering when the rams went 1-15. And the Bears/Packers IS one of the biggest rivalries in sports weather you like to admit it or not. Also... I've been a Bears/Cubs/Bulls/'Hawks fan for longer than you've been alive, son. Haha!

Me: Also, Bears and Packers have played against each other more often than any other team in NFL history. I think that adds to it being a LONG storied rivalry.

Me: ‎"The Bears-Packers rivalry is a sports rivalry between two professional American football teams in the National Football League(NFL), the Chicago Bears and the Green Bay Packers. The two clubs have won a combined 21 NFL Championships (incl...uding 4 Super Bowls) and have 48 members in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The rivalry began in 1921 and has grown to be the league's longest rivalry with 176 regular season and post season matches. With both clubs a part of the NFC North division, they will play each other twice each regular season.

Chicago currently leads the all-time series 90-80-6.

Joe: throw out all the facts u want but like I said, the Bears-Packers game is not even in the top ten for most legit rivalires in sports. It's not even about me admiting it or not. No one cares about the bears and the packers but the bears and ...packers fans. There is nothing special about either team anymore to warrant any excitement when they play. its just the truth. I can name at least 15 rivalries that have more historical and cultural relevance than the bears/packers. no one cares how long u've been a fan. it doesn't change the fact that most bears fan are the same. obxious, delusional and flat out annoying. I'm glad u brought up the Cubs and blackhawks because their fans are a joke as well. Cubs are somehow going to the world series every year and the blackhawks are only relevant when they win the Stanley cup. At least the Bulls manage to stay a contender consistently...btw, where did u get that description from? wikipedia? come on man! OSU-Michigan references do not apply to this argument. It's on a whole nother level than the Bears/Packers. get real folks...

Me: Also, if you notice, I wasn't picking "biggest rivalries in sports", I was picking your favorite teams and their rivals.

Joe: And for some reason they all have big n better rivals than the packers. So u only further proved my point. Thanks bro. Haha.

Joe: Oh n btw, as I said this has nothing to do with just this one game. Its overall. Bears fans=obnoxious. Period...

NEW YORK -- Monday night's game between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears was the highest-rated cable telecast of the year.

When unable to make a thoughtful response on a message board, ALWAYS be sure to tell the other to "calm down" and "take a breath". This makes the person holding the opposing view point seem ridiculous and over the top even though you're both arguing on the same topic and usually in the same tone.

Follow it up with a "I've been entertained, but this is so beneath me that I'm going to leave... yeah... that's why I'm leaving" type response and you can check the argument off on the win column!

Judging by the size of this thread, this is obviously the most important game of the year for Bears fans and determines their outlook for the entire year. Sports radio today was loaded with Bears fans getting positively horny at the thought of what heroic efforts their players put forth Monday night.

On the flip side, I am able to look at this game for what it truly is: ONLY THE THIRD FREAKING GAME OF THE SEASON. There's a ton more football to play and you just have to learn from this game (as with all games) and all will be well. I've said it all along, I believe the Packers are the better team and this game did not diminish that opinion, loss aside. Only time will tell who is right.

Look...all trolling aside, let me ask you a few questions?

1) Has anyone here implied that this is anything more than the 3rd game of the season? Anything more than a win over a Packers team that was a Super Bowl favorite? Anything more than a surprising start by a team picked by many (including it's own fans) to be pretty damn bad?

2) How does the "better team" commit more penalties than they scored points? How does the "better team" have so many mistakes to allow the Bears to be so "lucky"? In the long run, maybe you're right...the Packers might be the better team. Like you mentioned (in caps)...it's the third game of the season, and we have to wait for the season to play out to see who is better. But on Monday night, the Bears were the better team. It's a hard concept for a lot of Packers fans...so it's cool if you don't get it...

http://www.packerchatters.com/4ums/index.php?showtopic=18297

3) It's worth pointing out that you were pretty pumped as well last year after the Packers beat the Bears....in the FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON:

LOL I'm so giddy right now. It's like I'm reading an opponent's game thread after a huge Cubs win.

I'm not a fan of these huge ratings especially because this game topped another Bear game from last year. ESPN and NBC see these numbers are going to want the Bears in primetime but I prefer the Sunday afternoon games by a wide margin.

Living in the St. Louis area, I love the prime time games because I actually get to watch them without having to go to a bar. Works for me, but I can see wanting to watch the game with your own beer on your own couch on Sunday afternoon if you get all the games anyway.
