if i had to guess... among decent bears teams of the last 10 years... i'd put them something like 2001<2008<2010<2006

I'd put 2005 ahead of 2008. 2008's offense was barely better than 2005, while the defenses don't compare.

Yea... I have 2005 either right behind or right ahead of this year's team. it remains to be seen for me.

Oh, I see what you're saying. I think they clearly have the capability of being better this year. The defense won't be as good, but the offense should be better. But as you said, it's too early to tell, make it a tie for now.

Didn't the Packers beat that team twice that year? :)

Well, I guess we won't have to worry about that this year

Cause the Packers lost yesterday

To the Bears.

Really? You don't say...

It's true.

i'm concerned about the lazy throws cutler made last night. he made more than one, and at least two.

I'll cut him a break on the one he threw when Zambo went helmet to chin on him. I think he was trying to the PI (that he got) on the last one. But yeah...the dropped one near the end concerned me, and there were a few passes that actually worked that were pretty dangerous.

But really...Cutler's gonna do that. We really need to accept that...

The pick in the end zone looked lazy, but Olsen was outbodied by the defender and unable to get inside position, which is basically how he caught a similar pass later. It was still a bad decision. I'm not sure if I agree that the throws were lazy, it was more about making a few too many risky throws, which is of course his m.o.

he makes risky throws, but he's got such a great arm, he thinks he can put any kind of effort he wants into the throw and achive the best results. there were a couple of passes he needed to zip, but just kind of floated them. he needs to minimize those.

It's true.

he's still not afraid.

You're right. I'm not. Because I know in my heart the Packers are the superior team. At the end of the season the records will prove it.

That was a garbage performance by Green Bay. We gave the Bears the game on a platter. The team needs to show much better discipline. Congrats on your win Bears fans, as I predicted special teams played a huge role in the game. See you at Lambeau.

The game at Lambeau is pretty likely to be pointless, being the last game.

Bears-Packers is always a big game.

Not really. Maybe for some fans. But they've played plenty of meaningless ones, especially when it's last game of the season and nothing is on the line.

I'm still not sure why erik took umbrage to my first comment that he's a vastly different Cubs fan than a Packer fan. It wasn't an insult and it was completely true as can be seen by his reaction following a Packer loss vs. the first sign of something not going well while the Cubs are blowing out an opponent.

Careful. Folk don't take kindly to that kinda talk 'round here.

"congrats on your win but it wasn't really win"

how classy of you.

i really don't know how you can justify the packers' humiliating and demoralizing loss as their fault. your team got beaten.

So all it will take to turn erik from an insufferable loser fan to an insufferably arrogant fan is one championship in his lifetime?

We might have to possibly re-evaluate our desires for the Cubs to win another WS in the near future. Which erik is more tolerable?
