Dallas area Linens and Things are thrilled with this development.

Lolz. A towel joke.

More or less a joke making fun of towel jokes which is the in thing in Prior threads on NSBB.

Will he be eligible for the postseason roster?

If signed on September 1st or later (the article linked has a dateline of September 3rd), no.

Dammit. Every time I read a Prior thread I go into a nice episode of depression.

Seriously...that guy's arm was going to change everything until it stopped working well.

You can't even find Prior clips on the internet anymore...well there's one, but you don't want to watch it...it kinda sucks.

http://newsok.com/prior-gets-another-shot-in-okc/article/3492379

Prior threw 28 pitches Sunday vs. Omaha, with his fastball sitting at 90-91 mph most of the time. He hit 92 mph once.

That velocity is down from the mid-90s from his time with the Cubs, although Prior isn't too concerned about his velocity.

"I'd get up to 95 or 96, but I usually pitched between 92-93,” said Prior, who had 42 wins and 757 strikeouts while with the Cubs. "If I needed to go back and get something, I'd go get it. I don't have that anymore, but for the most part everything's the same as far as the pitches that I throw and the way that I use them.

"That hasn't changed. Now, will that change? I don't know yet. Part of the exercise pitching for the Flyers was, 'What kind of pitcher am I?' Do I still have a relatively power arm, or am I a power pitcher or do I need to start refining and moving the ball a little more and changing speeds?”

The whole damn thing makes me want to cry. So depressing.

We might not ever have a team that good again top to bottom and it was good for third best in our division. Baseball sometimes just isn't fair.

We had a better team top to bottom 4 years later.

You think so? I'm not so sure. '04's team won 89 games in a division with a 105 and 91 win team in it.

That 2004 team gets overrated by so many people. It was a very talented pitching staff hanging on by a thread due largely in part to inevitable injuries to the guys they rode so hard the year before, and an average at best lineup. They had a team OPS+ of 99 and were 14th in the league in walks. The 2004 demise was going to happen the minute they signed Dusty Baker to a job managing a team with no patient hitters and complete reliance on young arms.
