Good luck. I'm still not really excited about this team. But I will be watching mainly for Starlin Castro (geo too) since those are 2 young guys that are sure to be part of our future when the current core leaves.

Hasn't Starlin been on base every single game since he came up? That's what I thought I heard Len mention last night.

Start Colvin.

Look, I know Colvin is the "flavor of the year" but who exactly do you want to bench to start Colvin?

There's no problem rotating him in a little more often. The dude's hitting over .300 with an on-base of almost .370. Obviously our other 3 outfielders are doing well also, but there's no harm in giving him one of Fukudome's starts here and one of Soriano's starts there. It'll help keep everyone fresh.

The problem is that the Cubs are in such a left-handed heavy stretch (4 out of 6, 6 out of 11). So Fukudome really has to play all the other days. Soriano is the best hitter in the lineup right now so he needs to be replaced only sparingly. Today or tomorrow might be a good day to give Byrd a day off but the starts for Colvin are going to be hard to come by right now.

Exactly. The only guy you can really take out of the lineup vs a RH pitcher right now is Byrd because other than that, there is no openings for him right now.

I agree with all this, we are facing a ton of lefties right now so Fukudome needs to start every game against RHP, Sorianohas been very good, and Byrd has also been good but he makes the most sense to get a game off if Colvin is to get a start. All that being said Lou will probably give Colvin the start tonight for Soriano and bat him 4th or 5th.

Tonight would be an ideal night to get the leftys in the lineup as leftys have hit Billingsley a lot better than rightys.

1.94WHIP .287BAA leftys

.86 WHIP .223 BAA rightys

His career numbers show the same splits.

Ideal lineup in my opinion for tonight

Fuku

Castro

Lee

Colvin

Soriano

Fontenot

Soto

Theriot

Gorz

Could switch Colvin and Soriano if you wanted, too bad theres about a snow balls chance in hell we see that lineup.

Will look more like this I bet

Theriot

Castro

Lee

Byrd

Fuku

Soriano

Font

Soto

Gorz

Its been hinted recently that Fuku was going to drop to the 5 spot for some reason instead of moving Theriot to the 8 spot and putting Fuku at leadoff
