This is not a funny incedent. Because the fat, lard ass Philly security could not catch the drunk 17 yr old that was threatening no one, just making a fool of himself he was tasered?

It's a serious physical assault that should only be used in serious, life threatening situations. I hope the kid's parents sue the Phils for about Howards salary. And they WILL win.

No. Don't run onto the field and act like an idiot. It's as simple as that.

The over excessive use of tasers can be a problem. That's why we see news stories pop up about diabetics or epileptics or what have you being mistaken as drunks, being tasered and possibly causing fatal injuries. These lardo cops and security personnel should be required to stay in respectable shape so that tasers are a last resort.

Since not becoming fat isn't an option for the majority of America however, this is the most effective solution around.

Couldn't disagree more. How is security supposed to know the kids intentions? Yes, most likely he's being an dumb kid, but you don't know if he intends to harm a player/ump/coach etc. You can't take the risk. It's HIS responsibility for running onto the field. I hope to anything that the poor security guards don't get any heat from this. But,with the way this country seems to hate taking personal responsibility, I'm sure the family will sue the Phillies and win.

They'll probably give him double Howard's salary.

If anyone was wondering which side of the fence to be on, think about who your company will be...

Yup. In almost every instance, someone running on the field is just drunk and looking for attention, but there have been enough instances of players and umps being attacked that it shouldn't be tolerated.

It's really not hard to understand. If you don't want to get tasered at a baseball game, all you have to do is stay somewhere in the stands.

Unless the cops want you to do anything but sit still in your seat.

You run from the police what do you expect. They are not going to handle those cases different from any other ones. Yeah it's not funny when little punks think they are cool by running on the field. And they WILL NOT win.

FWIW, if anyone is around a TV, Sportscenter on ESPN is having this schmuck and his dad on pretty soon. IDK if it's just a replay or something new.

How soon before he parlays this into a spot on a reality show?

Sorry, but that's a short sighted, ignorant excuse for a solution. There is a difference between attacking thugs and drunk kids on a lark. If they are gonna sell that beer for 7 bucks a pop until a boy loses his judgement this kind of thing should be expected from time to time.

The old, fat, unfit security gets the final blame. But it's too expensive for the cheap ass team to hire off duty cops like they used to who know how much force is needed; and the least, the better.

Don't tase' 'em Bro!

Put yourself in the security officers shoes. Tell me how YOU are supposed to know that this person running onto the field isn't intending to harm you, players, coaches, umps, other fans etc. When you have a relatively harmless way to stop this person, why wouldn't you use it? It's not like he put a bullet into his leg or something.
