NBA owners will meet on Monday and are likely to discuss concerns over the Heat's path to landing LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade.

It's unclear what the issues might be, but there has been plenty of chatter about player-to-player collusion and, perhaps, tampering. Chris Bosh even said that the trio had been talking for "months" before quickly correcting himself and saying "days".

 

nothing is going to happen about this

 

it's not impossible, contracts have been nullified before and teams punished. if it's believed that player collusion happened, they can penalize miami and force the players to go elsewhere. which would be awesome.

Trust me I'm not RedFlash. I'm not as defensive about my shortcomings. I know I am a bad speller and very bad about being grammatically weak. If you want to nitpick about my shortcomings, be my guess cause I know I am very bad at it. Have at it. Let me put it out there, I do have agrammatism.

Is there even a rule that would prevent collusion on the part of the players? Everyone knew these guys were talking the whole time. What can the NBA do about it now?

 

The only thing the owners can possibly discuss is how to prevent this from happening in the future. I can't see how they can do squat about what has already happened.

Not gonna to do anything to Miami's situation, but they could change rules so that in the future this sort of player tampering doesn't happen.

 

To a point, yes, but they'll never completely control it.

 

I mean, unless they check cellphone voicemails and texts, or have an NBA official around each time two guys from different teams are together outside of an NBA game, they'll never totally stop it. What's to stop two guys from hanging out in the offsason and saying "hey, we should sign together. Let's see if (name of team) will take us."
