DRose says he has a three pointer in his arsenal now.

Let's see. If he could shoot a 3, he just might be unstoppable.

Just reading that on RealGM. He said that he even surpassed his own expectations regarding his 3 point shot. Rose is typically not the type of person to overstate his abilities.

This all seems to be a pretty bad indictment of Cleveland. LeBron is the best player in the league, yet the Cavs couldn't get anyone to play with him. If you're LeBron and the best your team can do for you is a broken Shaq and a fifty year old Antawn Jamison, wouldn't you leave too?

LeBron had significant input on all those transactions. And he also hamstrung the team by taking shorter contracts himself.

Oh come on. You think Cleveland management went to James to see who he wanted and he said Jamison?

Well it's not like the Cavaliers aren't bound by their own salaries, the desires of other teams, and other players' salaries. They came up with potential options to improve the team, and LeBron had to sign off on them. LeBron can leave because the cast around him wasn't as good, but it's pretty tough to blame management for that, since they did everything possible to do that and appease LeBron at the same time.

Absolutely. Any move that Ferry made had to be OK'd by GM James.

And Jamesapproved it because his first 50 choices didn't/wouldn't come. No one wants to play in that city

The city of Cleveland had nothing to do with it. Look at every major move the team made in the last 3-4 years. They're all trades because of Cleveland being over the cap.

They didn't come because James wouldn't commit to the Cavs. If James had told players he was staying there for the next 10 years, they would have had a much better team. They might even have Chris Bosh right now.

Cleveland is a dump but that's not why they couldn't get talent to surround Lebron.

free agents do not usually go to midwestern teams if they can get similar contracts somewhere else.

Again, the Cavs have been over the cap for half a decade, they haven't been after any big FA's.

Chris Bosh

Don't see how that's relevant since Lebron wasn't under contract

Bosh said he wouldn't go there because Lebron was noncommittal on staying with the Cavs. If Lebron said right away he was staying, I think Bosh ends up in Cleveland (considering Bosh would have gotten 30 million more out of that deal). There were also reports that Lebron refused to recruit for the Cavs over the last few years due to his impending free agency. If Lebron commited to the franchise, I think the Cavs would be an entirely different team.

All things being equal, players will always choose cool cities over cleveland

But all things weren't equal. Cleveland had the best player in the game.

And they still couldn't get anyone to play there. If all these vets are (supposedly) willing to play for peanuts in Miami, why wouldn't they do the same to play in Cleveland?

Rhetorical question, BTW

Why rhetorical? I think that's a simple question to answer. First of all, the vets that are going to Miami to play or talked about going are all mediocre role players (Miller, Ilgauskas, Fisher) Cleveland had plenty of those. Secondly, the recent FA classes were seriously weak and full of mediocre role players, not stars that could come in and take pressure off Lebron. Third, on paper, Cleveland offered much less of a guarantee of a championship than Miami does right now.

Just saw that Tony Allen signed with the Grizzlies. I was hoping to get him back. He would've been a good fit on the Bulls as a defensive counterpart to Korver's offense.

He has to fear for his life everytime he comes to Chicago. It would've been nice, but there's no chance that was going to materialize.

Haha oh yeah. That.
