So they're basically paying Redick $14 million this upcoming season.

Have fun.

LeBron is making what, 15 million?

Well Redick is only getting 7M.

It's more fun to think he's being paid like LeBron though. Somewhere Dickie V. is excitedly typing an article about how Coach K. helped JJ earn this big money deal.

Redick gets 7 of it. But that's pretty insane to pay out 14m for him. Have fun watching Redick not earn the payout.

BTW, did any of you hear that Rose says he feels his 3 is much futher along than he had hoped it would be? Anyone think he's not just blowing smoke? Rose with a 3 is scary.

LOL yeah.

"Hey, I'm feeling much better NOW!"

Barkley said it best. After a year or two out of the league, you start to feel better but you don't get better.

I'm going to have to see it in-season before I buy it. Hard to tell how it translates to an actual game situation

Yeah, that's how I'm taking it too. Though as a Bulls fan I simply can't resist perking up when I hear him say it, even though I must be skeptical as well.

Were the Magic already over the cap? Let's say they were, say, $4 million under the cap before they matched. Then they would only be paying $10 mlilion more for Redick.

But like someone else pointed out, Rose is not one to brag about himself or talk himself up. That makes me feel a lot better about what he said than if it had come from someone else.

I know I posted this a couple weeks ago, but it was when pages were being added every half hour. As such, I will offer again now that this thread has slowed.

I re-upped my season tickets (2 in the 300 level, corner), if anyone would like a share (be it 5, 10, 15, 20, etc) of the games please let me know. All games would be sold at face ($35 per ticket), and we would conduct a ticket draft. You would also have postseason rights in the same percentage of games as you buy for regular/preseason.

Thanks

I believe I read they were already fully over.

With the signings of Duhon and Q, I'm pretty sure they were over the cap.

I'd be interested in a few games.

Sam Smith says the Bulls signed Brewer.

We are officially the Midwestern Jazz.

Yep. He turned down a similar offer from Boston because he thought he can start in Chicago.

I like Brewer.

I would like Pietrus but I'm not sure the Magic would be that interested in trading him.

I like the Brewer deal too. I wish we were able to land Barnes so we'd have two real good defensive wing players, but I don't see that happening.

We have enough money to still land two pretty decent players via free agency.

I like Brewer as well.

I would have really liked to have had at least 1 starter have a proven track record of hitting 3 pointers. Deng can sometimes hit them at maybe a 30% clip. I think Brewer is a career 28-29% 3 point shooter. And Rose claims he can hit 3's but who knows for sure, and plus ideally he is the person who is supposed to benefit from having a long range shooter in the lineup, not the person shooting the 3's.

Having Korver will help, but he's probably playing 20 minutes a game tops, and there will be times because of game situation and his lack of defensive abilities that we cannot have him in the game.

I like Brewer better than Redick, even before you take into account the money saved

Same here. People got really excited because Redick had some decent play but I'd definitely rather have Brewer. It's just so weird to have 3 free agents from the same team end up with the same team.

While pretty much true, remember that Brewer was traded to Memphis last season.

And then like immediately got hurt.
