Someone on RealGM posted this one as a possibility...

Deng, Kirk, JJ, and Taj

Bosh and Hedo

IMO, the Bulls will need to include a third team in that deal if they have any desire to get both James and Bosh. The key will be to get rid of Hinrich and Deng as quickly as possible without taking on too much contracts.

You can sign LBJ and do that deal...I think. That would be the point of taking Hedo's deal.

One sign and trade package that works (salary-wise, anyway) is

Deng, Kirk, James Johnson, and Taj

for

Bosh and Hedo

The question there is how much Toronto regrets the Hedo signing. Is it taking on Kirk's deal worth it to swap Hedo for Deng and get JJ, Taj, and any other considerations the Bulls throw their way? I will say if they could move either Jack or Calderon in a second deal, they could use the defense Kirk and Luol bring.

This deal would be a straight up 125% sign and trade, so the Bulls could cap up first (sign lebron outright or sign and trade for pick consideration, then add, say Roger Mason Jr and Asik with the remaining cap money), then do the sign and trade. Such a move would leave the Bulls with

Rose

Mason Jr.

Lebron/Turkgolu

Bosh

Noah/Asik

and the 17th pick. Powerful but thin team. Would have to attract some title hungry vets/buy some second rounders to fill out the bench.

If the Bulls make that trade, sign Lebron and then sign some hungry vets to fill out the roster, I will bow down to Gar Foreman, and I won't say anything negative about him, Paxson or Reinsdorf for 2 years straight.

FYI: Memphis has three 1st rd picks (12th, 25th and 28th pick) so there is a good chance you could buy either the 25th or 28th pick off Memphis' hands.

I still don't see why Toronto would take back significant salary in any S&T deal.

it's because they won't be able to lure anyone in FA.

honestly speaking, LA could do better with bynum as a centerpiece. but i doubt that LA would be willing to take on hedo like the bulls would.

again, i proposed a trade like this a few weeks ago and got criticized, so i don't know how realistic it would be outside of bulls fandom. but it would be awesome if it happened.

they'd have to sign lebron and then korver or something, and then trade for bosh and turkoglu.

essentially, your starting 5 would be:

rose

lebron

turkoglu

bosh

noah

yikes.

the payroll would balloon when rose is due his max deal and noah is a due a raise. likely, we'd be looking at the highest payroll in the league, i believe.

Yeah, I heard Jamal Mashburn throw out this same, but highly unlikely, scenerio. His reasoning as to why it made sense was simply mindboggling stupid. The Lakers would need a S-N-T to make it happen, and if Gilbert and Cleveland knows LBJ is leaving they will not give in and work on a S-N-T to help LBJ. In other words, if LBJ leaves, Cleveland is more likely to be interested in the capspace then overrated and overpaid players (this includes players on the Bulls, and other teams interested in S-N-T ideas with Cleveland). I think Cleveland would be more interested in Bosh as a FA, if Lebron left, over Bynum via trade.

Yeah, but unlike the Knicks of yesteryear, that roster would be worth the highest payroll in the league. I have never had a problem with the Bulls having to pay the luxury tax, as long as the roster was worth the hassle and that roster is definately worth it.

The Bulls want to interview Tom Thibodeau per the Tribune. :)

Good to hear. Guys like Cheeks and Franks (both are said to be frontrunners for the job) will still be available in a couple of weeks. Just slow down and wait to interview Thibodeau. It wouldn't surprise me if he comes out of nowhere and takes the job after the C's run is over.

I suppose if Hedo's contract is so bad that they feel the only thing they can do is take a less bad (but still terrible) contract in return then I could see a S&T going down.

Why would Bosh agree to a sign and trade? So he gets traded to the team he wants to go to and the only way that can happen is through a sign and trade?

Money. Toronto can sign him to an extra year and more money.

NO

Do you think there's a chance he could make Rose even 1/50th as good defensively as Ronda? That way Rose would only be half as good as Ronda overall.

Oh. That is a serious loophole.

A guy I work with just messaged me this long rambling monologue on facebook about how the country is falling apart and going to hell and obama is wasting time trying to recruit lebron to the bulls

honestly i just hate everyone on earth

It sounds like the Bulls really like this Thibadeau (spelling?) guy, because it sounds like they are trying to interview him now, instead of later.

Dude, Rondo made Thibodeau, not the other way around. You know that. You could let Derrick play with a sword, outlaw calling any kind of violations on him and he'd still be worse than Rajon.

Just Phil trying to force the Lakers to pay him his 12 million a year to coach them.

I really doubt the Lakers pay him that much. As valuable as the Lakers are Jerry Buss isn't one of the wealthier owners in the league.

Now the Knicks or Nets could be big players for Jackson if the bidding gets nuts.

Somebody's jealous of those MVP cheers Rondo was getting. I wonder how many more seasons it will take for Rose to win his first playoff series. (Rondo won a title by this point btw)

you're really stooping to counting titles and playoff series? rondo is better than rose, you don't need to do things like this.
