The Celtics have to feel like crap. Up 6 after Allen goes off for 27 and Kobe is in foul trouble and hits only 2 shots.

KG also has only played like 3 min it feels like.

All of Boston's big men are in foul trouble - KG, Perkins, Davis and Wallace all have four fouls.

And you're close on KG, only 11 minutes and that's after playing six in the second half.

Paul Pierce doing his best to negate Ray Allen's effort tonight.

Lakers got jobbed down the stretch.

The ball was clearly off Garnett when it was 93-90. Instead of a chance to cut it to one or tie, Rondo hits a jumper to make it five.

The foul on Artest when it was 98-93 on Rondo when Allen threw the ball towards midcourt wasn't a foul either. LA would have had a chance to cut to two or three.

Not to mention that two of Kobe's fouls weren't fouls (the Allen flop and Rondo falling out of bounds when Kobe didn't touch him). That clearly affected his play down the stretch as he couldn't drive to the basket as he had been doing for fear of getting his sixth foul.

That said, Ron Artest shooting 1-10 helped cost them the game (I thought he and the team shot too many threes on the night). Also, it's completely inexplicable that Gasol didn't have a shot attempt in the fourth quarter (I don't count the three with 20 seconds left). Bynum also only had two shot attempts in the fourth. The Lakers were murdering Boston inside with Gasol and Bynum (13-20 FG, 20-25 FT, 46 points in the game) and yet for some reason they went away from that in the fourth.

Should have won the game and I'm confident they'll get at least one in Boston and hopefully two. I still think they'll win the series but I'd obviously feel a hell of a lot better if it was 2-0 right now.

Watching the Celtics and Lakers take turns flopping every time I flipped over from the hockey game reminded me why I don't like the NBA.

Happy to see this will be a series. I only saw about two minutes in the 2nd and the last 3 minutes of the 4th due to the Blackhawks, but did Kobe just have a poor game or did the Celtics smother him?

Wish I would've seen Allen's performance. Easily my favorite player in this series. Was it mainly Fisher on him? That's what I saw in the 2nd.

Foul shots were 41 to 26 in favor of LA. And if you take away several late free throws at the end of the game, it's even more lopsided. I'm not really sure how the refs gave an assist to the Celtics in this one.

Because the Lakers were pounding it inside to Gasol and Bynum. Those two took 25 of the free throws.

In round one, the Thunder had a free throw advantage (a huge one in their wins) because they were driving the ball inside while the Lakers were throwing up a bunch of threes. That was a fair advantage because of the styles the two teams were playing

Just because there was a huge disparity in free throws doesn't mean the refs were favoring one of the teams.

Can anyone tell me how they blew that replay with 2 minutes left when the ball was clearly out on Garnett? That and the Rondo call at the end pretty much daggered the Lakers tonight.

Lamar Odom not showing up is killing the Lakers.

Still baffled by the Garnett call.

And yeah, they really need Odom to step up. He, Artest and Fisher shot 4-21 tonight and just as Pierce's crap performance helped negate what Allen did, those three canceled out the great games Gasol and Bynum had.

Even though the Celtics took that game, I wouldn't be too worried if I were you.

Gasol/Bynum are destroying Garnett/Perkins/Wallace/Davis in this series. Artest is shutting down Pierce like he should be, and Allen isn't going to shoot 8-11 from downtown every night. Lastly, Rondo still can't make a jumpshot.

Add on that Lamar Odom has played like crap, and Kobe was in foul trouble/played like crap -- I think the Lakers are okay. I think Boston needed this game because they're probably not going to win every game at home (I think it's only been done twice in NBA history with the away team taking every game -- Miami and Detroit, I think).

I guess I should start posting in the Blackhawks thread about how I don't like hockey.

If the post is about what you saw from the HOCKEY game, go right ahead.

LOL at Lakers fans complaining about the refs. Awesome

It's hysterical out here. And I'm doing my best to fan the flames (thanks IMB! for that link).

Rondo breathed on Kobe. Kobe 2 shots.

And Garnett is abusing Gasol right now.

KG should probably not shoot another jumper for the rest of the series. None of them in the series have been particularly close.

21-5 run to end the quarter for LA.

Anytime Paul Pierce wants to show up this series, it would probably help the Celtics alot.

I would have made a case for good defense by Artest being the cause, but Luke Walton guarded Pierce for a while tonight when Artest went out with two fouls and Pierce still couldn't do anything.

I'm sure some of it is Artest, but Pierce has been horrible this series.
