Why did it get edited????????

Because it had no place in a game thread and made it near impossible for some people to load the thread.

I hope Bailey and Silva duel it out for seven innings of no run ball, and then the Reds bullpen drops a deuce.

You know, IF Silva has a decent year as a 4th/5th type starter, he wouldn't be the first to turn things around or "figure something out". Starting pitchers have done this under Rothschild before.

AND, Marshall has been TERRIFIC in the pen. Why wouldn't someone want success from BOTH pitchers so not only does your pen improve, but the starting staff too?

I agree with the editing. Especially since I'm checking nsbb 90% of the time from my iPhone. That's besides the point though, I mean Fred's stats are a way worse culprit( I really don't mind). Its just that Duke sucks. Cmon, Brad Stevens is a Cubs fan.

I digress, just win Cubs. And score some effin runs.

What were the chances that those pictures were edited out if Illinois had just won the national championship and an Illinois fan started the thread?

Audience matters.

But does it really matter, the pictures were in jest and taking them away is joking in kind.

And if you are really not able to grasp why some people would think it's better for the team that Silva flame out early in the season and hope that it would happen, please turn on your brain. I'm not saying you have to agree with it, but the logic is really simple. They think the Cubs win more games without Silva in the rotation, so if it means forfeiting 1/162nd of the season to make that happen(if that, like the 16-14 example shows), that's a perfectly rational trade-off.

What if a loss here would mean more wins in the future because we would have a better pitcher going every fifth day?

What if a great outing by Silva means he can be a good fifth starter and the team is thus better off for the whole season with Marshall being one of the view proven reliable arms in the pen? That is the best case scenario and should be the one you root for.

One great outing by Silva will not change what he should be expected to do for the rest of the season no more than one terrible one would. Sean Marshall would be more valuable in the rotation than in the bullpen, especially considering the way he has been used. And, I dont need da Bum telling me what I should root for.

Then don't post saying that you root for our SP to suck.

A fan rooting against his team's own players is contradicting himself.

Again, I wasn't even serious with the comment about wanting it to be his last. Even if I was, I would be rooting against Silva so that the Cubs would improve every fifth day

Can't you have this stupid pissing match via PM or something and stop [expletive] all over the game thread?

Why must we always be in conflict? In order to help, I've dug up some quotes on tolerance:

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

The test of courage comes when we are in the minority. The test of tolerance comes when we are in the majority.

You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.

I saw that movie on Netflix last night, might have to stream it tonight.

Now that I read it again, I missed the better play.
