Nick Watney (a DHS grad) is about to post the best round of the tournament. Too bad he shot a 76 on Friday or else he'd be in the lead right now.

choi never seems to hit a bad shot... maybe slow but steady will win the race?

Just tied for the lead and with that tee shot from Phil he'll probably be the outright leader in a few minutes.

mickelson's short game is great. if he could actually drive the ball in the fairway he'd be running away with this.

this probably still sets up a little better for mickelson because he can pretty easily have eagle chances on 13 and 15... choi doesn't hit the ball quite as far. of course, the way mickelson is driving the ball he can be in the trees on those par 5's.

it's like choi is playing a different game than the other three in the last two groups. choi keeps going fairway, green, one or two putt and everyone else wails their driver 30 yards into the woods and then tries to save par.

That was a pretty good shot by Phil out of the trees.

Kim is intriguing. Phil is being a complete idiot with using driver over and over. Tiger is showing rust. Westwood is not able to do anything but save par. Choi is consistent but may need to hit a big shot to win it.

Woods with an eagle on 15 and he's back to 10-under. He's going to be kicking himself for missing the par putt on 14 (which was a hilarious miss).

someone should really tell jim nantz that woods and choi haven't shot the same scores in each of their three rounds. he's said it three times in a half hour.

One last time.

jim nantz just said for at least the fourth time that choi and woods shot the same scores in every round, which is still completely untrue. someone tell him to stop saying this.

"And how about this. (Woods) and Choi end up at 11-under and shoot, for the fourth consecutive day, the exact same score."

LOL

That's like saying the a-bomb has a "pretty big" explosion...

LOL no kidding.

That was such typical Phil. When it was clear he was going for it we were practically screaming "Don't do it". If he doesn't catch that completely flush out of the straw and it comes up just 3-5 yards shorter it ends up in Ray's creek, he bogies and gives everyone a shot. Instead he hits an incredible shot and practically slammed the door shut on one shot. I love watching him, hope he's able to get a couple more.

Westwood is bound to win one and I bet he gets it in the British this year. Three consecutive top 3's of course but he has 4 top 3's in the last 8 majors and has a top 3 in each of the majors since '08.

It's just sick that Tiger struck the ball that poorly the last two days, missed that many putts and still ends at -11.

Fun to see yet again what's coming in the next 5-10 years from Anthony Kim.

i wonder what mickelson would have shot if he did have to play out of the trees on half the holes. his iron play and short game were amazing today. i do think it's funny that the announcers stopped bitching at him for using the driver when he hit good drives with it on 15 and 17.

Tiger has the record for lowest four round total at 270 Phil was 272 and this is after all the changes to the course. I think Phils 272 is right up there with Tigers 270 considering all the changes.

Tiger managed to play like garbage and still contended. If he ever gets his putting back on track and his ballstriking even close to normal, then he'll start to win majors again real soon. Most people view him as a great ballstriker, but IMO, he's the best ever because of his putting. I think he's the best putter of all time. If Mickelson could putt like Tiger Woods, he might have 10 majors by now. Nobody in history has been better with 10-20 footers that mattered. His putting has just been off since he's come back from his surgery. We'll see if he gets it back.

Phil was on fire this week. He's never going to hit every fairway or lay up. That's not his game. But he hit more than enough of them, especially on a pretty forgiving driving course. And he's got the best short game in golf by far.

Should be an interesting year for majors.

In general the course is tougher to score low than it was in '97. However it also played tougher that weekend in '97 than this weekend. Tiger's 270 was not only a record, but he won by 12 strokes. He was up 9 going into Sunday. Only 4 guys ended within 5 strokes. This week you had 4 guys within 5 strokes and 22 guys within 15.

Tiger's performance was complete dominance though only his 2nd most dominant performance.

I don't watch enough golf to quantify it statistically, but what I find most enjoyable about Phil is when he gets into trouble and makes an unbelievable shot to get out of trouble. He seems to have that gift, and it makes for great drama.

2nd to watching Tiger play golf in general, I'd say watching Phil save holes with incredible shots from well off the intended path is my favorite thing to watch.

Also, I got 1st and 4th with my two lineups in the Masters pool (out of 187). I was in 1st and 2nd mid-way through the final round, but faded, ended up bringing in $960 for first.

The masters iphone app was phenomenal

Yep. My only beef was they didn't go live at the scheduled times. In some instances, they were 2 hours later than the scheduled time.

But, the app was unbelievable. Ironically, I just picked up my iphone on Tuesday, and only because the oldest had a cracked screen on his cell phone, so I gave him mine and upgraded myself.
