Well that sucked. Nothing worse than making the comeback, taking the lead and losing in a way like that. I've never been the biggest Balbay fan either, oh well he is gone and they have one of the top PG coming in next year with Thompson and Joseph coming back as well and maybe Hamilton unless he really wants to go the way of Avery Bradley or a probable lockout. If Hamilton comes back they are top 5 preseason pretty easily.

Carroll and Marcius didn't develop leaving Purdue with one player over 6' 5" getting minutes. VCU had 7 guys taller than 6' 5" getting minutes. Purdue got absolutely dominated down low. I think VCU got more than 50 points in the paint. Heh.

Well looks like regular season Illini are back

Purdue just gave up their 94th point to VCU. They gave up 88 points to Ohio State in Columbus in a game where Ohio State connected on 11 three point field goals and shot 55% overall. The most points they gave up all year besides this game was 76 to MSU in a winning effort.

 

Tons of credit to VCU. Lots of credit has to go to the Boilermaker defense in this game too though. Unbelievably frustrating. I guess they missed Barlow's defense more than anyone thought???
