iowa scored 111 points and we score 29 points in the second half against western michigan. we have to start winning these easy ones by 40-50 for me to feel better about the season. what a lack of focus in the 2nd half, we got outhustled and outplayed by 10 points, i think.

we LOST the 2nd [expletive] half to these nobody losers.

Tisdale is going to get killed by MSU, OSU and Minnesota

yep, he will get abused by teams with any size whatsoever. he's not even very good offensively around the basket anymore. we may need to start leonard at some point.

We won't get to that step, but Tisdale is so poor in traffic on the offensive end. There were countless times where he would either drop the ball, hesitate, or not go up strong today. He's been the most frustrating Illini I can remember. I'm glad we have Leonard because I'm starting to come around on the idea that the Euro big man does not work in the Big Ten. I fear this will be a problem with Shaw as well because he has consistently stated he wants to play face up.

watching the wisky game yesterday, i cant help but think their C will destroy us, too. It seemed like we used to always have a wide bodied 6'9", average C with no offensive skills to play some d and get some boards. the lack of one now may be the critical weakness that dooms them to 4-6th in the conference and not making the sweet 16.

nervous about the unc game. we are athletic, but we haven't played many athletic teams, except for texas.

if you can't beat UNC, then you might as well give up on this season early.

i thought we'd beat texas easy, too. it will be interesting to see if the refs can behave.

Do any of you Indiana haters think the Hoosiers can beat BC on Wednesday?

I have no clue, but BJ Raji's brother leads the Golden Eagles in rebounding. I'm guessing that will be ESPN's go to nugget all season for BC.

Obviously, I'm not an IU hater, but I think IU can beat BC. They are not overly big inside. They aren't overly quick and athletic. They aren't a great shooting team. The teams that are going to make IU look bad this year are going to be teams with size and athletic ability. I think this is a 5-point game either way, but I'll give the edge to BC at home.

Went to the Sears Center last night for SIU-Purdue. At least it looks like our defensive effort is starting to come back. Our offensive sets are incredibly primitive, though. We kept it close for a half and lost by 19, which is exactly what I expected.

Then today, we won an ugly one against Wright State. If the defensive effort is actually there this season, I'll be very pleased.

I wonder if Richmond always has such terrible shot selection and make circus shots with regularity against other teams, or is it just against Purdue? Regardless, it looks like Purdue will be taking a huge fall in the rankings after this loss. With such a weak schedule and everyone counting them out without Hummel, Purdue will be lucky to see the top 10 again this season.

I didn't see many circus shots. Kevin Anderson was just nails all night long.

Fall away jumpers and three point shots with a hand in his face? Maybe not exactly circus shots, but bad shot selection.

Maybe I'm bitter, I don't know. It feels like years ago when this team had national championship aspirations with Hummel leading the way. It's tough to watch them fall to Richmond at this point on a neutral floor. Along with the fact that they can't recruit anyone, it's so depressing to know that this team is their best shot to go deep into the NCAA tourney for the next 4 years at least.

I'm really looking forward to being dumped on by the rest of the Big Ten after this year. Hell, why make this year an exception after tonight's performance?

Purdue only won last night because SIU turned the ball over near 30 times. They looked like dog [expletive] again today offensively. They wait around for teams to self destruct (and everyone they had played so far had). Richmond just took JJ out of the game and the offense was crippled without him. Purdue will get their asses kicked during the Big Ten schedule if they can't make adjustments to teams taking away JJ. Everyone is going to try to do that.

I know I'm overreacting after a loss to a decent team, but Painter needs to get them turned around or this is going to be a painful senior season for Johnson and Moore.

What a disgusting day to be a Purdue grad. Lose to an IU team who hadn't won in West Lafayette since 1996 and now this.

Its looking more and more like the 07 class was a one trick pony.

They really cannot help that Robbie Hummel is made of glass. They definately have some talent, but like I thought they are missing Kramer and Grant more than most thought they would.

I agree, Hummel was a huge loss. But great programs build depth. Purdue really doesn't have much. With IU improving their recruiting, Purdue is in some deep trouble. This has been the problem with the majority of the Weber era as well, and we are finally recovering.
