Ken Rosenthal tweets that the Marlins have made an offer to Kevin Gregg. Gregg, 31, spent two seasons as the Marlins closer, but would be returning in a setup capacity, according to Rosenthal.

I've never hated a cubs player more than Kevin Gregg. He was a terrible trade. He was a terrible closer. He was just terrible.

I'd prefer he go to the Pirates or Royals just so his level of talent could match the rest of the team.

Alfonseca, Rojas, Aguilera, Gregg....

That's like the Holy Quadrant of suck right there.

For me, part of my hatred was that he replaced one of my all-time favorite Cubs and proceeded to stink up the joint.

I noticed that Jose Ceda didn't pitch last year for the Marlins (minors or majors) what was his injury?

Fatty fat fat fat.

yeah, but seriously, anyone know the story here? I was really excited about him at one point.

Ceda, who turns 23 in January, was picked up in the deal for Kevin Gregg last November, but missed the entire 2009 season with a right shoulder injury.

Per Rotoworld. They say he's fully healthy now.

Blue Jays signed RHP Kevin Gregg to a one-year, $2.75 million contract with a $4.5 million club option for 2011.

Gregg can award himself a two-year option worth $8.75 million for 2011-2012 if he hits some pre-determined performance plateaus. The 31-year-old had a 4.72 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 23 saves in 30 opportunities with the Cubs last season and will battle for Toronto's ninth-inning gig this spring.

Good. So now, not only is he not going to pitch in games involving the Cubs, but he's also not even in America anymore.

We'd probably want to face him though.

Rojas. That's a name I had successfully forgotten. Thanks for bringing back the painful memories!
