Interesting. My guess is Mike Milbury will not be around for the rest of the Olympic coverage...to bad because he may not always be right but at least he says things that are mildly interesting.

He's always struck me as a miserable ass. He kind of reminds me of Sean Salisbury.

Take it easy. It wasn't that bad. Honestly, I didn't realize the term was so taboo. I mean, aside from being obviously derogatory.

Can't take one of the first three. Like I said I've been a casual fan since the lockout ended, watching national games, watching as much of the playoffs as I can, playing NHL and watching some Hawks games. The Hawks make the most sense because of geography, tv (love Olczyk) and being fun to watch. I would just feel like a dirty ho for jumping on the bandwagon. It's like someone deciding he wants to be a Bulls fan in 1992. The same goes for the Pens and Caps but they would be even worse because they don't have the geography.

Yeah I don't think I could get into the Devils, I just love watching Parise and he sounds like a pretty cool dude. I need an American cold weather team that's enjoyable but doesn't make me feel like I'm jumping on a bandwagon. The Blues are in St. Louis, so that's that. The Wild are just meh.

Jumping on the hawks bandwagon now wouldn't be like wanting to be a bulls fan in 1992, they had already won a title by then. Also, it's not like Chicago has a Jordan on the roster and you are just waiting for the inevitable title. It is not a foregone conclusion by any means that they win. I think they are a perfectly acceptable bandwagon to join, especially if you are just getting into it.

Jersey has the plus of being a team that will beat the NY and Philly teams, but other than that, they are fairly boring.

This is true. I'll take it under advisement.

i don't really care about this comment. he's just a moron that shouldn't be on tv.

I think the link pointed out the obvious. Mike Milbury is NBCs attempt to have someone like Don Cherry. Who is another moron. The "I wonder what he is going to say next?" appeal is kind of fun. I think most intelligent hockey fans realize this.

Seems weird for these Women's teams to celebrate like this when they were practically a lock for at least a silver.

Maybe, but these aren't hired gun all star teams like the men. These are established teams who train and complete together. This is the their ultimate goal in their sport.

Plus you don't live in Chicago so you won't be branded as someone who gave up on the team during the last 15 years and is now coming back when the times are good again.

The only people pulling that crap are the curmudgeon STHers that are now pissed off that they don't have entire rows to themselves. I sometimes wonder if they care more about that than feeling special. For what, I don't know.

I won't begrudge any Hawks fan who gave up on them during what I call The Dark Ages. How could you? Half the games weren't on TV, if you live outside of Chicago, you'd never see them on national TV. The owner did everything he could to drive us away. I'm a die-hard fan, but I'm no fool.

hell ya, this Japanese figure skater is dressed like Cleopatra and is using the music from HBO's "Rome". Awesome.

And apparently smashed the record books.

That was the Korean skater Kim Yu Na.

I hope this Canadian girl can at least get a bronze.
Given the circumstances I think winning bronze meant as much to her as winning gold did to Na.

It's nice to have ownership that is finally welcoming fans back.

It's puzzling to find that there are fans who seemingly say: "no! you can't come back because you didn't suffer with us!"

So let's go back to the Wirtz days then, I suppose? Kind of ridiculous.

The Hawks have to be a special circumstance. People talk about the woes of being a Raiders fan, but they were in a Super Bowl not too long ago. The Hawks actively screwed their fans more than most people. I don't feel too bad about "abandoning them", although I went to more games the past 10 years than I did the previous 10 years. Plus it's hockey, and always fighting for more fans, so the concept of a bandwagon just isn't the same as NFL or MLB teams.

Before the lockout I was more of a Boston Bruins fan because they were on ESPN a lot (those were the days). Also, the Blackhawks of the late 80s played a really boring style of dump and chase hockey.

After the lockout I stopped following hockey. The Blackhawks have brought me back. The game has gotten so much faster now it's a shame they can't get a real TV deal to expose it to a wider audience. Maybe if the US wins the Gold medal ESPN will give it another try.

Didn't see it posted here, but apparently the Canadian womens hockey team is in some trouble with the IOC because of their post-game celebration:
