so Illinois has no banners hanging that say "Big Ten Conference Champions"?

We've won a few regular season titles, what the hell are you getting at?

I know you did. Just clarifying if Illinois has tourney banners hanging or not

I don't believe they do.

College Football surrenders to the SEC.

The rest of college football formally surrendered to the Southeastern Conference Sunday, ending a decades-long war that had become hopelessly one-sided.

The surrender took place just outside Appomattox, Va. SEC officials declined to explain why this site was chosen.

The surrender was quickly ratified by 107 of the 108 non-SEC schools, with Boise State abstaining.

Richard Justice is talking like Mizzou is about to jump to the SEC.

The insiders at some other message boards I read are saying it would take a big turn of events to keep MU in the Big 12.

Please God anything to get ISU in the BigEast/CUSA

I don't think MU's defection would signal the final break-up of the Big 12, though who knows. If they add BYU, Louisville, WVU, and some other school (Cincy? AFA?), UT and OU might be inclined to stay in the conference so they could routinely skate to undefeated seasons. I could be wrong, though. Losing NU, aTm, CU, and MU is making this conference an academic/athletic embarrassment.

Kansas should probably move elsewhere in order to maintain their integrity.

academic wise they would be a good fit for the B1G.

I'm not sure if that was sarcasm or not, but Kansas would be at the bottom with Nebraska, about 25-30 spots behind Indiana and Iowa, and bring no football revenue. Also worth noting is that Kansas accepted 93% of applicants last year. The B1G isn't going to add Kansas because of their "academic fit" when they bring nothing else to the table.

That's primarily because KU, per Kansas BOR regulations, has to accept anyone with a pulse if they graduate from a Kansas HS. KU has been fighting against it for a while, to no avail. It really hurts the university as a whole, since it adds a huge pool of students who aren't college material.

Kansas has a billion dollar endowment and some of the top schools in the country (education, psychology, social sciences, fine arts, speech, OT, and PT). As a public-flagship university it is a pretty prestigious school.

I wasn't commenting on their ability to bring in football money, only on their academic qualifications.

Ahem, I think you forgot to mention the law school?

Is Kansas even in the top half of flagship universities?

I don't know, but at the end of the day, all the chest thumping over school reputation is pretty dumb. Unless your undergrad degree has a stamp on it from one of about 20 schools, they all look the same to most people. I know plenty of retards who graduated from Wisconsin, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, etc. KU is not Yale, but I'm pretty confident the education I received was comparable to the education most of the posters here got.

Grad school is a different story, and KU does have some very highly regarded grad programs.

Considering Kansas just emerged from a brutal federal investigation that led to prison time for five employees due to a multimillion dollar ticket scandal, I'd be surprised if the B1G wanted anything to do with Kansas regardless of academics.

There are a lot of reasons the B1G won't add KU. That's not one of them. I don't know why you think that would have any bearing on anything.

I didn't drop out because the classes were so easy. Did you know most courses at KU have nap time built in?
