Syracuse and Pitt were approved. If the ACC goes to 16 teams, the article I read made it sound like Rutgers and UCONN could be the other 2 teams as it seems like they want to stick with east coast teams. Texas pitched them last week and they had been in talks with WVU as well. Since I'm more of a basketball guy, I love adding Syracuse and Pitt and hope UCONN gets added as well. I'd love Texas, but think the LHN is going to wind up screwing them and kind of doubt any of these super conferences wind up taking them.

I'd so much rather have WVU than Rutgers

Same here, but I don't think WVU's academics are going to be a fit unfortunately.

This [expletive] is getting out of hand. Sounds like WVU is interested in going to the SEC, Rutgers has reached out to the Big 10, Texas is maybe heading to the Pac 12, and I'm sure more is coming. I am not a fan of all of this at all. We are heading to 4 16-team super conferences and it looks like nothing will stop it.

This is not good. The Big East needs to move quickly - if UConn and Rutgers are really following to the ACC, then KU, Mizzou, KSU and somebody else will be musts.

Can't wait for Andy's reaction to ND joining the Big Ten.

If it is, it is. It sure seems like unless the Big East operates everything perfectly (and even if they do) it might fall apart.

UCONN reportedly already asked to be in the ACC too. If we have to join a conference, be #16 in the ACC or PAC12 please.

Yeah, I'd prefer the ACC if it came down to it. But I don't expect the PTB at the school to see it that way.

You know, throughout all of this, I never REALLY thought KU would get left out of the mix. Sure, we suck at football and there are only 7 working televisions in all of Kansas, but it's a solid academic school with a nationally recognized brand. I felt like there would have to be the perfect storm of events to be left out. Well [expletive] me in the face. The storm has arrived.

Unless the SEC or the B1G take us (LOL and LOL'er) we're hosed royally. And it will severely damage the university not only from a sports perspective, but academically, too. It really blows.

Why do you ND fans prefer the ACC to the B10? That seems silly to me.

Of course, if UT to the Pac50 is inevitable, you probably would rather be there. But the ACC? They suck at football and didn't get any better academically in the Pitt/Cuse/Uconn scenario. Don't get this at all.

If there are 4 superconferences, isn't your preference: ACC, PAC, BIGX, SEC?

God no. Why would you think that?

what's your preference?

If ND joins the Big Ten, it becomes regional. Half or more of it's games are like a 4-hour bus ride from SB. ACC schools are generally a better fit.

So...convenience is a problem?

He doesn't want their recruiting limited to competing for midwestern kids.

I don't see how having a schedule like this:

Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue, Penn State, USC, Navy, and two rotating games is going to be any worse for recruiting then a schedule of Wake Forest, Maryland, Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, NC State, Pittsburgh, Georgia Tech, USC, Navy, and two rotating games.

I'd prefer ND goes to the Big 10, then the ACC, then the Pac 12, then the SEC. I like the rivalry possibilities better in the Big 10 and I think the non-conference schedule is easier to complete than if they were in the ACC.

Hey, if the superconference thing has to happen, I hope the big 10 lands ND & Texas. Not sure who else I'd add to get to 16, but those are definitely the big prizes out there.
