Derrek Leon Lee (born September 6, 1975 in Sacramento, California) is a Major League Baseball first baseman and team captain for the Chicago Cubs.

 

When did this even happen? Is it true? I'd be perfectly fine with it, but still.

yeah, i searched around for a few minutes and couldn't find anything to confirm that, so i'm probably not remembering correctly.

My understanding was that he was basically the unspoken team captain. He's the guy that talks to all the players and tries to help them through things, known as a real leader. But to my knowledge the Cubs have no "captain"
