Updated schedule based on Redskins schedule leaking. For those who say this is pointless since it will be released in an hour, I say screw off.

Week 1 (9/12) - vs. Lions

Week 4 (10/3) - @ Giants

Week 7 (10/24) - vs. Redskins

Week 9 (11/7) - @ Bills (Toronto, ON)

Week 13 (12/5) - @ Lions

Week 17 (1/1-1/3) - vs./@ Packers

Also, interesting news....Bears are going to wear 1940's style throwbacks for select (undetermined) home games this season...

Oh hell yes. I hope this also means no more orange jersey, since I presume we won't use more than one alternate

Crazy hard schedule.....ugh...AFC EAST....

Well I wouldn't be surprised about that since 7/8's of the schedule was known years ago

Posted

Here is that schedule, which looks tough at the beginning (my way too early prediction in parenthesis). 2 Monday Night football games (Week 3 vs. GB, Week 15 @ MIN..ugh), 1 Sunday Night game for now (Week 4 @ Giants), 1 Thursday night game (again?, Week 11 @ MIA), and for now EIGHT NOON GAMES (!!!) One schedule oddity is that after week 6, we alternate home and road games for the rest of the season, not playing consecutive home or road games more than once all season. That could actually be good.

Early predictions are kinda fun, but silly as hell. Last year, my predictions weren't even close. Either way.

Do you have the Jets wrapping up the division by week 16? I just don't see how our receivers are going to catch one ball that game.

One: I think the Jets will take a step back defensively next year.

Two: Not saying the Bears have great recievers, but I really doubt Revis is good enough to cover four recievers on one time, especially when he got the grossly overrated Cromartie on the other side.

It's the best possible fit for Cromartie, I think he'll have a solid year. He's going to be lined up against all #2's/3's and with the pressure they get it's about as good of a spot as you can have.

we knew the opponents and what field they played months ago.

I was planning a road trip to the Bears/Jets if it fell on any day but Christmas weekend. That sucks.

True, although teams will most certainly try to throw his way more.

Looking at the schedule I'm not seeing the Bears having a much more successful year than 09, although it's too early for me to throw out a w/l prediction.

To me, it really doesn't matter about the schedule. What matters is how well Cutler does in his 2nd year with the team, and first with Martz, and to a slightly lesser extent, how much of an impact Peppers and Urlacher will have on improving the defense. If Cutler is better, a lot of good things can happen. If not, very little good can happen.

Yeah I'm not worried about the schedule....I mean if the Bears are legit good, they can get into the playoffs with a tough schedule. There are tons of winnable games there. Yes it sucks that they have to play both East divisions, which are amongst the toughest in football, but what can you do.

Screw the overrated eastern divisions. The jets were still just a 9-7 team, new england has fallen from their mighy heights, and neither Miami nor Buffalo is particularly threatening. And the Bears have fared quite well against the best team from the NFC East, Philly, for the past several years.

Agreed. I'd rather play the AFC East than the North or even South (mainly based on poor matchups for the Bears like Andre Johnson, Peyton Manning, Vince Young's mobility). The Jets have been crowned because they had a good showing in the playoffs and acquired big name players this offseason. The Pats will be Welker-less and still have a below average D. Plus, both those games are in Chicago.

Agreed with whoever said "If the Bears are good then they will win games, schedule be damned" and I also agree with whoever said "Who cares how many games we win, just want to see Cutler do well in 2nd year"

This roster aint gonna win any championships so we need the key role players to make strides. Hope we can make another Super Bowl run before Urlacher is too old to contribute

Little tidbit from Jeff Risdon at RealGM in his "25 Fearless Draft Predictions" article.

21. Just because the Chicago Bears don’t have any selections in the first two rounds, don’t think that Bears fans have no reason to watch said rounds. As proven the past couple of years, GM Jerry Angelo has no qualms about dealing future #1 picks to jump up and take a player he wants. Packaging Greg Olsen can get them a few spots higher than just a 1st as well. Two names to keep an eye on for Chicago in the 25-40 range: Morgan Burnett and Devin McCourty.

Give away the farm for Eric Berry. But has Jerry done that the last couple of years, or just for Cutler?
