way to go acc. three games against the SEC today and three losses, including two games in which the acc team was favored.

The ACC's BCS bid must be taken away ASAP. That conference has been horrible for quite some time now.

pete carroll is indeed a dick. congrats on running up the score against ucla; still doesn't erase getting completely bent over by oregon and stanford and losing to a bad washington team (remember when washington was ranked??? lol)

by the way, washington st football should be contracted.

This probably helps UCLA more in the long term.

Pete Carroll is a special type of douche. Whines to the fullest when he's getting his ass kicked and then does [expletive] like this.

I only saw the SportsCenter highlights and I'm not defending Carroll, but what was the point in UCLA calling a timeout right before that?

Why should the eat them?

Take another knee and go to the locker with a win. Or throw a play action bomb.

I wasn't sure if UCLA had enough timeouts to maybe get the ball back or not. Like I said, I'm not defending Carroll and I'm not justifying throwing a deep pass there rather than taking a knee, but if UCLA wasn't going to get the ball back, I don't really see a point in using the timeout.

It was a "don't quit on my team" type of move. I'd be pissed if he sat on the timeouts. They had 3 timeouts. Even if they did get the ball back, they were down 2 scores so it wouldn't have mattered.

And the worst of it was that over the top celebration by Carroll.

They are showing highlights of Toby Gerhart and I just have to say that it looks so weird to me to see a white power running back like that. It just doesn't look right.

So we have people complaining about the score being run up in a 28-7 final game, or is my computer broken?

No kidding. Houston scored 73 POINTS against Rice and their 14 points.

The idea that Neuheisel would've sat on the ball in a similar situation is pretty laughable. Besides, wasn't it "hilarious" when Stanford went for two when they were sodomizing SC.

Ok, that actually was funny but my point stands.

I actually turned the game off after the TD that made it 21-7. And now I'm reading that SC kneeled and THEN UCLA called a timeout before SC went for the score?

What on earth could you possibly be whining about then?

what objective does it serve to throw a play action pass with under a minute left when you're ahead by 14 points? unless your answer is "to win by more points and embarrass the other team" you answered incorrectly.

if i were a ucla offensive lineman i would have attempted to low bridge every usc player i encountered on the next possession until the game was over or until i was ejected from the game.

Neuheisel shouldn't have called the timeouts then. Basically Carroll was telling UCLA good game before the TO. I would have done the same thing if I was USC.

LOL, Charlie "the genius" Weis. Ty Willingham sure did mess up that game.

do you even have a football team or are you just in here b/c you like to rag on those terrible kids at ND that ruined your childhood?

So what does UCLA gain by taking those 3 timeout to 2010?

Why is USC running a play action bomb in that situation rather than a dive up the middle? And quite frankly, that's not what bugged me. What bugged me is that Carroll was jumping up and down 10 yards onto the field and everyone on the USC sideline was running onto the field or pointing and gesturing at the other sideline. Total bush league. But go ahead, Carroll, bitch to Harbaugh and then do the same crap.

And that play also took away from questioning the reffing on such plays as the "whistle" blowing the Jonathan Franklin lateral dead and causing them to run a do-over.

Did UCLA have a chance to get the ball back with the timeouts? Because, if not, using timeouts when the game is over is bush league and classless too. Teams shouldn't rub it in, but teams should also concede defeat in times like that.

Yeah, seems to me like both sides are a little at fault. There's nothing to gain by taking the timeouts to 2010, but what's the benefit of using them? Getting a punt with 20 seconds left on the clock? USC is bush league for running a play action bomb and going crazy over it, they should've just run the ball in that case. But UCLA is overreacting by having the entire sideline march towards USC.

I agree. I think emotions got the best of everybody. I still would have done the same thing if I'm USC, especially against my most bitter rival.

My favorite college football team is the Western Michigan Broncos. Represent!

Yes, they would have gotten the ball back if they held USC. They had all 3 timeouts. Obviously no chance to win but they stop USC and they get the ball.

I've seen teams go for an intermediate pass play for a first down or run the ball in that situateion, not go for deep PA bombs. The pass didn't upset me, the reaction on the sideline sure did.

What is UCLA's players' reaction going to be when the USC players and coaches are jumping up and down and bouncing onto the field?

Fantastic win by Tennessee today. 30-24 in overtime over Kentucky to extend the winning streak to 25 games. Probably the best thing about the game is that senior workhorse running back Montario Hardesty got the winning score on a 20-yard run on third down in overtime. Hardesty finished with 36 carries for 179 yards and three touchdowns. All career highs.

I didn't get to watch the game, but Kentucky's a solid team. Randall Cobb is a really nice player and Morgan Newton has some potential. They very well could snap the streak next season. They certainly almost did this year.

That said, a 7-5 season and a likely Outback Bowl appearance is quite nice for Lane's first year. Not sure who we'll play (either Wisconsin or Northwestern, I guess?), but a win would obviously be very nice.

Does Ole Miss travel well enough to warrant a deal between the Cotton Bowl and the Outback to swap SEC representatives?

I don't know how well Ole Miss travels. Traditionally the SEC East team goes to the Outback, so that's why I'm assuming it for UT.
