I'm giving Auburn like a 2% chance here.

There's at least a 50 percent chance Auburn's QB throws a pick.

perhaps the worst two-minute offense in the history of football.

...Auburn's last minute efforts definitely rank up there with LSU's last week. Overall, they played a decent game. I don't think they will get stuck going to a pizza bowl at this point....they played bama about as close as anyone thought they could this season.

Anybody who knows the Iron Bowl knows this was about as typical of a IB game as it gets. Glad to get the win, hope that Ingram will be ready for Florida, if not, hope he is ready for the bowl. And pretty much congrats to McCoy for "winning" the Heisman.

I still think Suh ought to win it. He won't, but he should.

He will win on draft day with his paycheck.

well the person who wins the heisman trophy is the person who receives the most votes, so i don't think RedFlash's sarcasm or putdown or whatever makes sense here.

It wasn't sarcasm or a putdown, it was simply an opinion. But looking pass the surface of McCoy's numbers suggest he hasn't been as good as a Heisman candidate should.

McCoy season breaks down in three ways:

1: He was really good against the mediocre or cupcakes teams (ULM, UTEP, Kansas, A&M, Coloardo and Wyoming).

2: He was solid, at best, against solid teams (Missouri, UCF, and Texas Tech, even tho you could agrue he was only workmanlike against Tech).

3: Yards wise, he had his two worst games against both OU and OSU, two teams that were good enough to win, but fail to do so.

I'm sorry, but McCoy has been good, but not Heisman worthy. If Ingram doesn't get (which, unless he plays against Floirida and dominates them) the award I would prefer it going to somebody like Toby Gerhart who has been a much needed and better player then both Ingram AND McCoy. But unfortunately people are falling over themselves becuase of McCoy's performance against a pretty awful A&M defense, and he'll get the award because he's Colt McCoy and not because of performance. In fact McCoy hasn't even been the best QB in the nation, a certain Houston QB has been better. I like McCoy, but he isn't getting the aaward based on merit, but based on personality, and charm. In other words, IMO, the Heisman has become the Gold Glove award of college football. An award that in the end, don't really have that much meaning. Cause teams that have the Heisman winner often loses the National Championship, which will be a problem for Texas and Colt McCoy when they see Alabama in Pasadena.

Why is Alabama going to Pasadena?

Is it just a foregone conclusion that a 1 loss SEC champ gets in over an undefeated TCU or Cincy or both?

no, a 3-loss USC team would get in first

This would be a workable joke if it had any precedent at all.

don't let facts get in the way of Derwood making his 3-loss USC joke. It's the only one he's got and he makes it twice in every CFB thread.

Why is Alabama going to Pasadena?

Because that's where the NC game is being played

ok, so what's alabama doing there? can their entire team really afford to pay to watch florida play texas in person???

This might work if USC hadn't once been left out of the title game despite being the top-ranked team in the nation.

Having a hard time getting excited about the Border War game today. I guess the most important thing is that if KU lays another egg it's probably the last nail in Mangino's coffin (er, railcar).
