well the person who wins the heisman trophy is the person who receives the most votes, so i don't think RedFlash's sarcasm or putdown or whatever makes sense here.

It wasn't sarcasm or a putdown, it was simply an opinion. But looking pass the surface of McCoy's numbers suggest he hasn't been as good as a Heisman candidate should.

McCoy season breaks down in three ways:

1: He was really good against the mediocre or cupcakes teams (ULM, UTEP, Kansas, A&M, Coloardo and Wyoming).

2: He was solid, at best, against solid teams (Missouri, UCF, and Texas Tech, even tho you could agrue he was only workmanlike against Tech).

3: Yards wise, he had his two worst games against both OU and OSU, two teams that were good enough to win, but fail to do so.

I'm sorry, but McCoy has been good, but not Heisman worthy. If Ingram doesn't get (which, unless he plays against Floirida and dominates them) the award I would prefer it going to somebody like Toby Gerhart who has been a much needed and better player then both Ingram AND McCoy. But unfortunately people are falling over themselves becuase of McCoy's performance against a pretty awful A&M defense, and he'll get the award because he's Colt McCoy and not because of performance. In fact McCoy hasn't even been the best QB in the nation, a certain Houston QB has been better. I like McCoy, but he isn't getting the aaward based on merit, but based on personality, and charm. In other words, IMO, the Heisman has become the Gold Glove award of college football. An award that in the end, don't really have that much meaning. Cause teams that have the Heisman winner often loses the National Championship, which will be a problem for Texas and Colt McCoy when they see Alabama in Pasadena.

So when Alabama plays Auburn the rivalry changes everything, but when Texas plays A&M it doesn't count as much? Auburn's defense is bad just as is A&M, maybe not so much be they are very bad.

I know your sad to see Ingram lose the Heisman after claiming he would be the 1st Alabama player to ever win it a couple of weeks ago. So McCoy went 12-0 because of his personality and charm? Keenum is not a finalist for any award so I guess they are all a joke. Everyone knows you would be signing a different tune if Ingram had a decent game or actually wins the award and stating he deserved to win it over Gerhart.

I know some guys vote early, but there is still games to be played that will figure into the Heisman race. Texas can lay and egg against Nebraska and the winner of the Fla/Ala game could help their teams candidate pass McCoy up.

NC State's coach taking an "eff it, I want to win it now" approach in FG territory. Don't see that call everyday.

Moot point with an INT on the next play.

duke and wake forest are tied at 14 and they've barely played half of the first quarter.

Your boys are giving Villanova a hell of a fight. Go HC.

Montana's continuing to prove why they're an overrated top seed and undefeated team, as they're losing to South Dakota State 24-14 at home in the second quarter.

Good effort by Holy Cross today but they lost 38-28.

EDIT: Make that 31-14 South Dakota St.

Unless something wildly turns in this game, cross Oklahoma State off the BCS possibility list. They're getting pounded 20-0 after 3 quarters.

That leaves the teams fighting for the elusive two spots as: Boise State, Iowa, Penn State, and Virginia Tech. I think if Miami wins today that they'll also be eligible when the season is over. The winner of BYU/Utah has a decent shot of becoming eligible, and there is still a small chance USC becomes eligible again.

But it definitely looks like it will be Iowa/Penn State vs Boise in the Fiesta Bowl. I would call any of the 3 loss teams as huge underdogs in this fight mostly because of how late they've come into the picture.

Former Iowa great Jake Christensen is 1/8 with a couple of picks and a fumble lost against us.

Looks like we're going to play William & Mary next week in the round of eight. Hopefully the winner of New Hampshire/McNeese St. can take down Villanova next Saturday.

Mizzou's jerseys are awesome.

Mizzou's defense is not. We better not put Kansas in a [expletive] bowl game.

It's probably going to be between ISU and Kansas for the last Big 12 bowl tie-in, so please don't.

The MVC and the CAA are looking great right now while the Big Sky is looking horrible.

in awesome news - South Dakota State was up 34-14 early in the 3rd on Montana and Montana is now winning 61-48. Montana's scored 34 4th quarter points

Amazing turnaround by Montana. That's pretty much been their MO for the whole year. They suck for a while but find a way to win. They very easily could have gone 6-5 in the regular season.
