Saints (best record in the league) vs. Bucs (worst record in the league)

DON'T LOSE

Highly doubtful. But anything can happen, right?

Another tidbit from for the Packer/49er game will be, Rodgers and Smith playing each other for the first time since being drafted.

Ok, so no one really cares. But still

Actually, I kind of care. It's mildly interesting to me that Smith was played very early in his career and is struggling, and Rodgers sat the bench for a couple years and is doing well.

I don't think there's one solution to the question of whether you should play your young QB or not. But every time a QB is played early and succeeds, you hear stuff about how that is the way to go. But I don't think that's always the best way, depending on the player. Rodgers sat and learned, and it seems to have benefitted him.

Each player is different and should be treated as so and the sooner people realize that the better. There is no one way to handle a player. Whether he is a QB, RB or whatever.

Ronnie Brown is out for Thursday's game. It'd be nice to be back at .500.

Eh, I think Ricky is a better back anyway, so at least he'll get more carries. Wildcat will need to be adjusted though.

Now that he's out for the year, I think there is the potential for a big negative impact to the Dolphins. Not because I don't think they have another running option, but because I think Ronnie was an important part of the wildcat, which was an important part of the Phins scheme on offense.

russell wasn't terrible last year but man has he been wretched this season.

Based on their bodies of work so far, I firmly believe that future civilizations will dig up all the draft magazines that debated "Russell or Quinn?" before the 2007 draft and conclude that our society was primitive and stupid.

All societies of the past are primitive compared today. As long as our society continues to advance (rather than regress) that will remain true. I'm guessing at some point many years from know people will look back on our sports today and wonder why we cared so much about something that had nothing to do with us.

Yeah, that changes things significantly. Not that I had high hopes for the season at this point anyway, but long term reliance on Henne (or Pat White in the wildcat) isn't good for the Dolphins offensive performance. The silver lining is that Henne/White get extra development time to see if they need to use yet another draft pick on a QB. In more bad news for Miami, Joey Porter is expected to start tonight.

Good to know, thanks!

That 2 point conversion was a giant play for a 3.5 point spread

Carolina was -3.5 I believe, so only if Carolina scores another TD. And why didn't Miami take the 15 yards on the conversion?

Right, but if they had gone for the single point another TD wouldn't have covered without a 2 pointer.

So what you meant to say is that the 2-pt conversion could be a giant play?

We learned nothing from this game. Carolina still sucks and hasn't gotten a big defensive stop in six years.

I think that was pretty much a must-win for the Panthers. They just couldn't afford to lose to Miami at home.

It's classic Panthers. With the apparent fluky exception of 2008, they haven't won a regular season game they had to have since 2003.

I fully expect them to win the next two, then take a big lead on New England in week 14 to get my hopes up one last time before gagging on their own spit just like they did against New Orleans.

Posted
Yeah. That loss is the nail in the coffin for the Panthers. With their upcoming schedule, there's no way they win enough to get into the WC picture.

I hope they get in the top ten pick picture.

Well, so much for my theory about Ronnie Brown being missed. :)

Although it was just one game.

Ricky Williams is going to make a lot of fantasy owners very happy the last 7 weeks of the season.
