but doesnt is also have something to do with how long a player has been in the league?

Off the top of my head its:

<=4 years experience: larger of 20% of the salary cap or 105% of previous salary

>4, =<8, years experience: larger of 25% of salary cap or 105% of previous salary

>8, =<10 years experience: larger of 30% of salary cap or 105% of previous salary

>10 years experience: larger of 33% of salary cap or 105% of previous salary

(Kind of a guess, but its something really similar to this)

For pretty much any of the guys getting a max raise this year, that number is the 105% since the cap has dropped. So Lebron, Wade, and Bosh will actually make more than 30% of the salary cap.

And that is for the first season of a new deal. After that, the player gets 10.5% of the first year salary as raises. If he signs with a new team, thus has no bird rights, its an 8% raise. Note that it isn't a compounding raise. To calculate the max raise you just take that percent of the first year, and that dollar value is the max raise (as opposed to increasing 10.5% each year)

Google "Larry Coon", "NBA", "CBA" and use his FAQ website. He's pretty clear about any rules (although you can always check the actual CBA for best accuracy which you can also find online.

I know the Magic are good, but not this good, so I am glad the Bulls showed up tonight.

Yeah, it's not like they're missing Rose or Noah or anything. They're certainly not critical parts of this team.

That doesn't excuse the lack of effort.

Okay the answer was bugging me so here is the max salary right from the CBA documents:

(i)

for any player who has completed fewer than seven (7) Years of Service, the greater of (x) 25% of the Salary Cap in effect at the time the Contract is executed, (y) 105% of the Salary for the final Season of the player’s prior Contract, or (z) $9 million;

(ii)

for any player who has completed at least seven (7) but fewer than ten (10) Years of Service, the greater of (x) 30% of the Salary Cap in effect at the time the Contract is executed, (y) 105% of the Salary for the final Season of the player’s prior Contract, or (z) $11 million; or

(iii)

for any player who has completed ten (10) or more Years of Service, the greater of (x) 35% of the Salary Cap in effect at the time the Contract is executed, (y) 105% of the Salary for the final Season of the player’s prior Contract, or (z) $14 million.

They're just not a very good team. Lack of effort has little to do with the end result of a game like this.

I was excited because my friend got free tickets to this game and let me have one of them.

Wow, was that an abomination to watch in person. I know this team doesn't have much depth. I also know that without Noah and Rose, they're not good. Nevertheless, that was some incredibly sloppy and poorly-played basketball. It was like the Bulls didn't even have a coach tonight.

That maybe, Orlando the better team, I know this, but with or without Rose/Noah there is no excuse for sloppy ball. Hinrich/Salmons/Deng/Gibson/Miller should have made this game somewhat respectable (under 20 points). It seem to me they just didn't want to be out there. I'm sorry that kind of attitude cannot be condone.

Don't be ridiculous. The Bulls are already mediocre as a team and were missing their two best players, going against the second-best team in the East. They didn't have a shot at making it close.

Hinrich/Salmons/Deng/Gibson/Miller as an everyday lineup would be worse than the Nets.

Thought the game would be much closer than it was. Nice to get a convincing win. Too bad we're headed toward a beating at the Q tomorrow night.
I hope so! :)

Nah, it should be a pretty good game. But, the Cavs have been playing pretty freaking fantastic lately.

Thanks for ruining our weekend.

It'd be cool if he didn't act like it was awesome that he injured our [expletive] all-star and basically guaranteed us L's until he comes back (God, make it right after the break).

Dwight Howard on DRose foul: "It was just momentum and when he hit the man of steel, he went down.

God, what an ass.

You people are all overreacting. I'm not sure there are many more awesome guys in the NBA than Dwight Howard. They are good friends and Rose had already let him know that he was fine when he said that.
