So [expletive] brutal. The last two games have been the most glaring examples all year of missing BG. There's just no spacing or reliable outside shooting and it strangles everything.

What were they, 2/12 for 3? Awful. They need a shooter badly.

:banghead:

I wish people would stop using losing BG as a crutch for the reason why they suck.

I'm just saying Gordon's outside shooting wasn't adequately replaced. There isn't even a reasonable option. I guess if you want to call it a crutch go ahead.

I still think letting Gordon go was the right move but that doesn't mean the outside shooting is acceptable or desirable. It's utterly atrocious and needs to be fixed, badly.

I agreed that he was not adequately replace, but let's face facts the Bulls were not seriously going to upgrade any position last summer if it jeopardizes their "2010 plan." So bemoan the fact the Bulls do not have a player that can stretch the court, complaining about it (sponge, this wasn't necessarily directed at you, but the Bulls fans on several different sites have simply frustrated me with their love of BG and their wishing he was still on the Bulls) really doesn't do a thing. I've learn to accept the Bulls for what they are this year and not what they don't have. They are who they are.

And yes, they do need to fix it, but it won't happen till the summer.

Amidst the recent disappointment, Chicago fans have to be super pumped about Noah, right? Dude is an absolute beast. It's looking like the Bulls have two good pieces to build around now.

Noah's a better version of Ben Wallace. Turned out to be a more than adequate ballplayer. Pair him with a big who can score and that's a nice frontcourt.

Exactly. I've never understood why people keep complaining in this thread like the Bulls dropped the ball for this season when it was obvious as can be that they were just going to in a holding pattern until the big offseason. It's obvious what needs need to be fixed, but it's also been obvious since Gordon was not signed that they're biding their times until the better FA's are out there.

I think everyone knows the plan, but is a bit worried that it will end up just like the last time we geared up for the big free agents(Hill, TMac, and Duncan).

Sure, there's unfortunately a realistic chance of that happening, but it's not like they passed on some slamdunk altenatives to make sure they have money for this. Yeah, it would be nice to still have Gordon, but not at the money he would have gotten. Keeping Gordon would have just put them at MAYBE slightly above the pack, and for way too much money.

Wait, why is that a crutch? He was their best player last year. He's not on the team anymore and it's hurt them.

That's like saying that you don't want people to use pancreatic cancer as a crutch for why Patrick Swayze died.

Agreed, Gordon was handled the right way. Cannot give him the kind of money that the Pistons did. I wish they would find a way to move Kirk. They do that they could possibly land Bosh and LeBron.

I really don't think anyone has a chance of landing LeBron outside of NY (and the extreme dark horse of Cleveland keeping him) unless he's laying down the biggest mind [expletive] / [expletive] you in FA history, but I definitely would also like to see Hinirch moved to free up some more spending to ideally land a combo of Bosh and someone else (I don't think it'll be Wade. My money is on him not opting out and then signing with the Knicks/LeBron after his contract is done).

I can't see Wade leaving South Beach. Hope he does, but doubt it. I think Bosh and Joe Johnson might be what we go after.

Do you think it is a foregone conclusion that LeBron is going to take a max contract instead of just getting a really big one and going to a place where he can win (Miami?)?

LeBron can win in NY. Not sure if it will be next year, but LeBron in NY = many more opportunities for NY to improve their team.

Yeah, CP3 can opt out after next year I believe. I imagine he would like to play for Mike D with LeBron.

With LeBron all but flat out saying he's going to the Knicks, yes, I'd be stunned if he didn't end up there. There's simply no other market like it, the team would be built around him, they have a ton of money to spend and if he can win there he's the king of the NYC. I think it goes beyond him simply wanting to win and instead he wants to win in the biggest way possible. I really would not be surprised to see a combo like him, Wade and Boozer on the Knicks after a couple of years. I think LeBron and Wade are all but foregone conclusions for the Bulls in terms of the team signing them and they need to focus on getting Bosh and someone like Joe Johnson (if he can be pried away from Atlanta).

I don't think you can say the Knicks are all but guarantee to sign Lebron James. I mean, come on, just becuase they are New York, Lebron doesn't need New York for endorsement deals. Just because Nike wants him there doesn't mean he want to go there. I still think he is more likely to sign the NY/NJ/Brooklyn Nets, because A: he still be in the NY market, B: he is friends with Jay-Z who is a part owner, C: Nets have more talent on the team (Harris, Lopez, Yi, CDR) which could make winning easier then NY. Callme naive, but I believe Lenron when he says it's about winning. I know it's a risk, but I could see Lebron taking another short-term deal with Cleveland before signing with the Knicks, especially if Cleveland makes the final.

It's less about the Knicks wanting LeBron and more about LeBron wanting the Knicks/NYC. I don't think he can make it any clearer that he wants to go there short of somehow putting it in neon letters on his jersey for the rets of the season. Anyone ignoring all of his "hints" at this point are as deluded as the people that were convinced the Knicks-themed LeBorn shoes were just classic Cleveland colors.

I must've missed what happened with LeBron and the Knicks. Anyone want to clue me in? When you're a fan of a dominant team like I am, the regular season is pretty boring, I have a hard time keeping focus when we blow everyone out. And half the team is resting for the playoffs

The Nets don't have more talent than anybody. They're 3-37.

You just lost to Detroit. That just happened, like, 16 hours ago.

I'm a bulls fans and by no means is our team dominant but the regular season is pretty boring for me too. The only thing to be decided is whether well have a 0.7% chance of John Wall or get swept in Round 1 (unless we draw you guys and Garnett is out again)

What kind of logic is that? They most certaintly do have talent and moreso then New York. The records was based on their best talent being injured and non-effective at the beginning of the year.
