"Can't Kiffin still do it and sacrifice a time out?

Yes, Kiffin can be an arse and still show up in those orange jersey, but it will cost his team 15 yards on the kickoff to begin both halves.

I'm pretty sure CNS is the one being a doucey arse here

If that is what you think, then so be it. You be wrong, but that's okay. Alabama has the right to decline it. If Alabama/Tennessee game was played a neutral site similar to GA/Florida, Texas/OU, USC/UCLA, then fine I'll be for it, but since it's NOT, Alabama has the right to deny Tennessee, just like Tennessee has the right to deny Alabama if the roles were reverse. It's not being "douchy" it's what I call keeping the competitve advantage.

how is it keeping a competitive advantage?

I can't figure it out. If it's just a gimmick, then Saban shouldn't have an issue letting them wear the orange jerseys. I can't imagine why a coach would care what jerseys the players were wearing.

It is scientifically proven that wearing orange makes you run faster. It is true. Former poster duecebaseman and I got a bunch of our friends to run a 40-yd dash while we timed with the stop watch. They ran a number of trials, each time wearing a different color. Every single one of them ran a half second faster while wearing orange. I know it seems crazy, but it's true. Incidentially, the there was a lot of confusion when they ran wearing plaid.

Kelly Page is done for the year with a thumb injury - the 12-0 to 0-12 transition is really going to happen.

yeah missed that one... looks like the line is about even. i will probably pick iowa because they apparently cannot lose.

Indiana at Northwestern isn't a game of note (relative to this board)?

maybe i should have said "games of note to me" because i sure as hell do not care about the dregs of the big ten.

In other Vols-Tide news, Nick Saban sunk to a new level of douchebagness today. Tennessee asked for permission to wear their Orange jerseys into Tuscaloose (and thus rekindle an old-fashioned tradition of Tennessee always wearing Orange and Alabama always wearing Crimson in this matchup), and despite the conference giving it to okay, Saban turns down Tennessee.

This is historical, as these teams wore their colors against one another well into the '60's. Just a douchey move.

Sureeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. Just because USC and UCLA did that a couple of years ago doesn't mean squat. It's not doucey, it's gimmicky, and Alabama football and more important Nick Saban football doesn't need or required gimmicks. So just because Alabama said no to the crimson .v. orange jersey doesn't make it doucey, crying about something so trivial now that says douchebaggery.

Really? It's just a gimmick? So, all those Bear Bryant vs. General Neyland battles that had Bama in the crimson jerseys and Tennessee in orange were gimmicky? So, Bear Bryant was gimmicky, while CNS is not? That is what you're saying, right?

You also say further down that it's competitive advantage, but didn't CNS say just last season when Georgia broke out black jerseys that it did not matter what color jerseys teams wore? I'm sure he did.

I guess I shouldn't expect more from a fanbase who thinks it's the NCAA's fault that they are deemed "repeat serial offenders" of NCAA rules. It's always someone else's fault, and we never do wrong. Typical Bammer mindset.

Hey the IU/Northwestern game could essentially be for the final bowl bid from the Big Ten conference. The winner just needs to win one more game to be eligible, and IU end at home vs. Purdue (same scenario as 2007 when we went to our last bowl) and NW has @ Illinois in the next to last week. Both teams have Iowa, Penn St, and Wisconsin still, so barring a major upset this game will be the big 5th win for either team.

yes i'm really excited to see which mediocre big ten team goes to a bowl that you'd have to pay me to watch.

Yet, you have no problem watching Penn St?

this doesn't make any sense.

Penn St. is mediocre, they just win 10 games because they schedule middle school teams.

they're easily among the top half of the big ten, probably something like #3 or #4, while northwestern and indiana are in the bottom half of the league and probably among the 3 or 4 worst teams in the league.

by the way, northwestern and indiana wouldn't even have a chance at being bowl eligible if they didn't play the same middle school-caliber teams that penn state is playing.
