Did anyone else see that the Metrodome is now called "Mall of America Field"? Just another reason to hate the Vikings.

 

They just got naming rights for the actual field. So it's one of those Mall of America Field at (or in) the Metrodome.

 

Lame but they need the money when you can't get any revenue from your stadium.

There's no way I will ever reveal my sources, so maybe I shouldn't have brought it up. Sorry. I am a little surprised, however, that you wouldn't even consider it possible. I know Zook has a reputation as a great recruiter and all, but he sure did get a lot of highly rated prospects to come to Champaign over some big-time programs when Illinois was in the dumps.

 

And I'm a Northwestern grad and fan. Fire away.

 

Considering there has been allegations and such, that were looked into and found false, I highly doubt hes paying anybody. And after going to the Rose Bowl, and such, it shouldnt be that surprising he was able to get some kids to come to Champaign.

I don't think it's that difficult to get away with. We're not talking about the head coach writing checks, here. A lot of illegal relationships can be facilitated and/or ignored by a program to get a player to attend their school.

 

The Rose Bowl was of course, a HUGE recruiting tool. However, he got a lot of high quality recruits before the Rose Bowl, coming off some awful seasons.

 

I should not have opened this can of worms. I was trying to make an Illinois joke on a board with a lot of Illinois fans, and there's absolutely no way I'll be able to convince anyone without revealing my sources, which I will not do.

Stupid 49ers and Ravens against the Vikings. So frustrating.

 

I understand the 49ers, but the Ravens were never really in the game until the end.

 

When an NFL kicker has a chance to win the game with a 44-yard FG inside a dome and blows it, it sure is frustrating.

 

Let's say you're playing poker and you go all-in after the flop and get called. You find out you're behind. The turn comes and you hit it and now you're ahead. The river comes and it hits your opponent and you lose.

 

Is that a bad beat?

Yeah, that was dumb. Almost as dumb as saying that I heard about a potential trade. Not trying to get all BigBird here. But at the same time, I'm not going to put in writing "Yeah, XX got paid! I know it for a fact!" and ruin my relationship with that individual and my source. I'll tell you over a beer though, after the NU Illinois game in Champaign.

 

See, none of this would've happened if you hadn't been so purposely dense with my joke!

the joke was bad. and insinuating that you have a source indicating that the university of illinois broke ncaa rules which would subject them to sanctions and then refusing to name them is a serious thing. not like saying that some pitcher got traded to the cubs or wants to get traded to the cubs.

 

i made a joke about the illini, you could have left it at that.

Currently, TN QB's have as many INTs as they do completions.

NFC West still goes through Arizona. They're putting a massive beatdown on the Seahawks at Qwest.

Yeah... I didn't realize Walter Jones was out and I foolishly chose Seattle in my Pick 'Em league. I thought Housh would finally get the ball. I wasn't able to catch any of the game, but something tells me there was more to it than just those two, though.
