Hell yes football in the snow. I love it

looks like I got out of New Englad just in time because at 11:30 this morning there wasn't a drop of snow on the ground.

I guess Dan Dierdorf took over for John Madden as #1 in giving Brett Favre a verbal fellatio. He had an orgasm after Favre got up laughing after a big hit. "Who else takes a hit like that and gets up LAUGHING?" It's gotten to the point where it's nearly unbearable to watch a Vikings game. The Ravens are driving to win the game and all they can show is Favre on the sidelines. I wish someone would just obliterate him and end his season already.

those are maybe the two best uniforms in football history, too

and the refs uniforms! this game is the gift that keeps giving

This game is why I absolutely hate domes. Domes in football should be banned. Football is played outside.

Stupid 49ers and Ravens against the Vikings. So frustrating.

So far, the Vikings have been the luckiest team in the league. They are two plays from having two losses and the Rams have them the win last week with infinity +1 turnovers in the Red Zone.

I didn't realize turnovers were only a product of bad offense and had nothing to do with defense. Regardless, they weren't going to lose that Rams game in any way. The turnovers dictated what the Vikings did offensively. They were in cruise control.

But yes they were lucky on the missed FG today and fortunate to win the 49ers game.

I like how you leave out that the Bears won at least 1, possibly 2 games because of missed FG's by opposing kickers that were just as easy or easier than what the Ravens had today.

Vikings/Ravens was such a weird game. Defense completely dominated in the first half. Offense was unstoppable in the first quarter then got conservative. Offense was still clicking but had to settle for FG's. 27-10 with 9 minutes left and you give up 21 (should have been) 24 points.

Then the Vikings get a big play on 3 consecutive drives to get in the red zone or goal to go and then get conservative and settle for FG's. I think they called 8 runs and 1 screen on the 9 plays in those situations following the big play.

Defense obviously missed Antoine Winfield a ton today but there were some awful breakdowns over the middle and picking up Rice out of the backfield. Plus Flacco is frickin good.

6-0 to go with a 7-0 Hawkeyes start. I'll take it.

Being in the internet video black hole that is Turkey, I have to take the NFL scraps the internet has to offer. Right now I'm watching Dutch coverage of the Arizona/Seattle game. This might be my new favorite novelty. There are three well dressed Dutch guys watching the video feed and commenting on the game, but they are more like golf announcers than football. They have really calm tones and leave tons of long, awkward silences. I just went through 2 minutes of comment-less football.

How is a fg in Chicago with the terrible field they play on, just as easy or easier than a FG in a dome, in perfect kicking conditions?

I love how defensive you get about any criticism of the Vikings. This isn't a comparison thread, it's a comment about how lucky the Vikings have been -- directly after the Vikings game. Don't deflect. Besides, no one is talking about the Bears... and no one mentioned the Bears.

I understand the 49ers, but the Ravens were never really in the game until the end.

When an NFL kicker has a chance to win the game with a 44-yard FG inside a dome and blows it, it sure is frustrating.

it'll end for them. lucky teams always get exposed at some point when it will hurt the most for their fans. like the playoffs.

Also their schedule the first 4-5 weeks was set up for them to get off to a great start.

it doesn't seem like they've played a road gam eyet.

Well, plus--the Ravens played a great 4th quarter and it's not a 45 minute game.
