So far, the Vikings have been the luckiest team in the league. They are two plays from having two losses and the Rams have them the win last week with infinity +1 turnovers in the Red Zone.

Also their schedule the first 4-5 weeks was set up for them to get off to a great start.

it doesn't seem like they've played a road gam eyet.

3 but they've been 3 of the easiest road games possible. At Cleveland, St. Louis and Detroit. They're at Pittsburgh and Green Bay the next two weeks.

what on earth could it hurt to put vince young in now? except for his fragile sanity, that is.

I can't think of a good reason. I think Fisher should consider swallowing his pride a little bit and put Young in.

I didn't realize turnovers were only a product of bad offense and had nothing to do with defense. Regardless, they weren't going to lose that Rams game in any way. The turnovers dictated what the Vikings did offensively. They were in cruise control.

But yes they were lucky on the missed FG today and fortunate to win the 49ers game.

I like how you leave out that the Bears won at least 1, possibly 2 games because of missed FG's by opposing kickers that were just as easy or easier than what the Ravens had today.

How is a fg in Chicago with the terrible field they play on, just as easy or easier than a FG in a dome, in perfect kicking conditions?

38 AND 43 yard field goal in Chicago = One 44 yard field goal in dome at least

Mare missed a 43 yarder and a 34 yarder > One missed 44 yarder in dome

Brady is 18-19 for 301 yards and four touchdowns. He'd have a QB rating of 297 if this was college.

fisher is starting to look like ron zook.

That's not fair... Zook has more salary to pay his players.

i don't get it.

Illinois.

Pays.

Its players.

And they still suck.

Id like to see your proof and reasoning behind that.

He thinks it is still the 80's. Right now he is listening to Men at Work because he thinks it is the hot new band.

There's no way I will ever reveal my sources, so maybe I shouldn't have brought it up. Sorry. I am a little surprised, however, that you wouldn't even consider it possible. I know Zook has a reputation as a great recruiter and all, but he sure did get a lot of highly rated prospects to come to Champaign over some big-time programs when Illinois was in the dumps.

And I'm a Northwestern grad and fan. Fire away.

they certainly suck, but the whole paying its players thing is a bit of a stretch.

and be careful. whenever i find out who you are so i can find out what teams you like i'll be there to pour salt in the wounds when they suck, too.

Considering there has been allegations and such, that were looked into and found false, I highly doubt hes paying anybody. And after going to the Rose Bowl, and such, it shouldnt be that surprising he was able to get some kids to come to Champaign.

Stupid 49ers and Ravens against the Vikings. So frustrating.

I understand the 49ers, but the Ravens were never really in the game until the end.

When an NFL kicker has a chance to win the game with a 44-yard FG inside a dome and blows it, it sure is frustrating.

Let's say you're playing poker and you go all-in after the flop and get called. You find out you're behind. The turn comes and you hit it and now you're ahead. The river comes and it hits your opponent and you lose.

Is that a bad beat?

I don't think it's that difficult to get away with. We're not talking about the head coach writing checks, here. A lot of illegal relationships can be facilitated and/or ignored by a program to get a player to attend their school.

The Rose Bowl was of course, a HUGE recruiting tool. However, he got a lot of high quality recruits before the Rose Bowl, coming off some awful seasons.

I should not have opened this can of worms. I was trying to make an Illinois joke on a board with a lot of Illinois fans, and there's absolutely no way I'll be able to convince anyone without revealing my sources, which I will not do.
