NLDS: LA Dodgers eliminate St Louis Cardinals 3-0

Ok. I realize the Dodgers swept the Cubs last year. Fine. Am I the only one who really isn't angry with the Dodgers? The Cubs (not named Derrek Lee) sucked in that series. We LOST that series. It wasn't stolen from us. It was disappointing, but I don't hate them for it.

 

I am, but I live in LA and their fans are douches.

People can say whatever they want but anyone who roots for the Cardinals in the playoffs (or any game for that matter) isn't a true Cubs fan in my book. A rival is someone you never root for. You don't see Yankees fans rooting for the Red Sox and visa versa.

 

And for the record my dad is a life long Cardinals fan. He grew up spending his summers in St. Louis with his grandma and cousins. All that is just more reason to root against the Cardinals. I don't want to hear his smack talk.

While the "true fan" thing is subjective nonsense, it definitely seems difficult to reconcile being a Cubs fan and rooting for the Cardinals to get a step closer to another WS win. It really would be like a Red Sox fan rooting for the Yankees or vice-versa

Umm what? Maybe you don't understand logic. The Cardinals are our rival and are the team we should never root for. I don't see how that makes us unable to root for every team.

Gateway Redbirds is rather entertaining right now. For all the lurking Cards fans, I know you won the division and we didnt, 2006 1908 blah blah. But its fun to see their fans self destruct and throw the same kind of idiot thoughts out there like some of our posters do.

Forget all of that. They rubbed it in our faces last year when we won 97 games and they weren't close to making the playoffs. We're allowed to root for them to fail.
