Fantastic!!!! I thought their bullpen would be the weak spot but, it never really got to that point. I was not as impressed with the Cardinals as many experts were, they had that incredible August but, were pretty ordinary outside of August.

I have to admit, with Carpernter an Wainwright as the 1-2 and Pujols/Holliday/Ludwick in middle, I thought they had a great chance to do some serious damage in the postseason.

I also think they will be a lesser team at the start of 2010. Holliday and DeRo will leave, and Franklin won't repeat his 2009 performance.

They'd likely still be a "lesser" team even if they did resign DeRosa, given that he was not all that good for them this year, he's old and he has wrist issues.

DeRosa doesn't even need to enter the equation for discussions along these lines. Hopefully the Myth of Mark DeRosa will finally begin it's long-deserved death.

It's a given Franklin won't repeat his 2009 performance but, I'm not certain about Holliday. He seem's like the perfect hick, Cardinal written

all over him, maybe Boras being his agent will be the mitigating factor.

Only two years until Pujols becomes a free agent and bolts to the Yankees.

That will be the best schadenfreude ever. This is because most Cards fans don't believe it will ever happen.

It would be so delicious if he goes to a team and has a great stretch during which his new team has a lot of success and he goes into the HOF with another team's hat on.

i don't think he'll go elsewhere because the cardinals will pay him enough to stay, even if it's $30-35M. they're not a huge market but they're big enough to keep him as long as he doesn't want $40M+ in free agency.

If they want to, let them. It will cripple their ability to build a supporting cast.

What losing streak? 5 games? The Brewers won Game 3 of their series last year on the same day the Cubs lost game 3 (but earlier in the day). So the streak is Game 3 Dodgers v. Cubs, Game 4 Brewers v. Phillies, and Games 1-3 Dodgers v. Cardinals.

True. Did you also realize the NL West is now 13-1 in their last 14 NLDS games (2007-2009) after going 1-6 in the 2006 NLDS?

I would rather the Cardinals shelled a bunch of years and dollars toward him first.

Nice to see "The World's Greatest Fans" abandoning their team in the eight inning.

As a DH? They already have Teixeira.

The buttache on sports radio is amazing in St. Louis right now:

-the Cardinals get swept in the first round

-the University of Missouri football team got their clock cleaned on ESPN this last Thursday

-the Blues lost their first two home games

-the Rams are easily the worst team in the NFL.
