So Taguchi-OF-Cubs Sep. 16 - 1:21 pm et

The Chicago Tribune reports that the Cubs are calling up So Taguchi from Triple-A Iowa.

Taguchi, who is expected to arrive in time for Wednesday night's game, will primarily be a reserve and shouldn't be a consideration in NL-only leagues.

More than likely to fill in for Fuld. Before this move, the Cubs werent Taguchi at all.

Just in time for a series against the Cardinals. Maybe they are hoping he will go off against his former team. And by "go off" I mean .250/.330/.375

Seriously if you are playing fantasy baseball and you need RotoWorld to tell you that So Taguchi shouldnt be a consideration, then you really need to stop playing fantasy baseball. Or you need to join every league Im in please.

"I'm a baseball player," Taguchi said, "so my role is, if skipper says, 'Go,' I have to go. That's it."

Can we teach Miles this trick?

What's the over/under on standing O's given to Taguchi this weekend? I'm guessing at least a couple come whenever Lou kicks him into the on-deck circle while trying to decide who's really going to pinch hit.

According to the Trib, Taguchi didn't even pick up the phone when the Cubs called to tell him to pack his bags because it was from a 312 number. Apparently he has no friends in Chicago and thought it was a wrong number.

So I guess he's going to go on an insane tear, push us into the postseason (where we get swept in the first round, again), and then be signed to a 2 year 5 million contract in the offseason.

That, or barely play at all. There is no in between.

Wasnt the name of the 2005 White Sox 2B Taguchi? What happened to that guy? He just fell off the map.

ETA: my bad, it was Tadahito Iguchi. Still he fell off the map.

He's back in Japan. Hitting .281/.391/.475 in 530 plate appearances this season.
