These idiot fans are cheering a rush. I have absolutely no respect for these fans.

Their booing of Campbell is embarassingly stupid.

Uhhh, hello. He played 20 whole games with them.

The thing that gets me is they should be screaming their frickin' heads off for him to cheer him signing with us because it led to them signing Boyle.

I think the Hawks made clear they are the frontrunner in the WC at this point.

Well, that confirms it, the Hawks are not the mediocrity that is the rest of Chicago sports teams. I thought they were far superior prior to this game but, I'd say there's no doubt now.

We rule dudes!

What the hell, we look like the strongest team in the land right now. That was amazing. I can't imagine a better way to kick off his Hawks career for The Hoss.

What must Columbus be thinking right now with a 7 game winning streak and actually losing ground to the Hawks?

They are probably thinking they wish we didn't have at least 6 players better than anyone on their roster.

They're probably just happy that they've won seven in a row. I assume that's the longest win streak that they've had in their franchise.

I think you mean Nashville.

Are the Hawks just a trade for a great goaltender away from being the Stanley Cup favorites? Maybe they could be the favorites right now, but I would still feel more comfortable with a proven goalie.

Goalies get hot and cold. Proven stanley cup goalies can turn soft quite easily. Every year a new goalie goes from nobody or former weak linke to the guy capable of winning for his team. There's the rare super-duper-star goalie like Brodeur but his teams haven't gone all that far in recent years. Marc Andre Fleury was considered a weak link until his team actually won the cup. Kiprusoff was once considered a surefire cup winning superstar, yet he hasn't won one and you could argue he's taken a step back.

Huet is as proven and good as anybody that they could trade for, and there's about a zero percent chance that they could get some star there, so I'd rather just enjoy the season and live with what they have.

With the cap as it is, along with the coming extensions for Keith, Kane and Toews, I really don't see how they could make such a deal. They'd have to move Huet in the deal, and his cap hit is $5.625M for the next two years. That's a pretty large number (and a large part of the Hawks' cap problem) to move this season. I could potentially see Huet being moved in the offseason, though.

The cap really is becoming a problem. I think the Hawks will continue to be very good in coming years, but they will have some serious decisions to make in the offseason. Take a look at the free agents:

UFA

Adam Burish

John Madden

RFA

Kane*

Toews*

Ladd

Eager

Fraser

Keith*

Hjallmarsson

Hendry

yeah, huet will be fine. he's decent and he's got some very good defensive players in front of him that limit the opposing team's attempts.

brodeur's great and all, but the players in front of him were allowed to just grab and smash back then.

That was a dud of a game. Plenty of chances, just slightly off with everything.

And I hate to say it, but Buff was not skating. I don't know how many times I noticed him dogging it out there this afternoon. I know it's going to happen over the course of a season, but it was pretty obvious.

That one penalty looked a little shaky on Buf, as it looked to me like the goalie and he just got tangled up. Plus they ignored the punches the goalie threw afterwards too.

Regardless though, they just didn't play well enough to win. Ducks aren't good either. So that game kind of stunk.

They've been on the road for awhile, it's got to suck to be away for Thanksgiving, and then coming off a huge win, I can see why they were a little out of it.

Let's get that circus to move on to its next town and get some hockey back in the United Center :)

Alright, I need the Hawks to make up for the other Hawks' collapse against Mizzou today. Drank away that sorrow, and honestly, if not for this hockey game I'd probably be in bed by now.

So don't let me down, Hawks.

The difference in the energy level tonight compared to last night is clear already. Especially with the 4th line. They are actually doing some checking tonight.
